Job Title: Mechanical Assembly Technician
Job Description
Join our team as a Mechanical Assembly Technician where you will play a crucial role in assembling and testing optical systems to meet delivery schedules. You will work with multi-element lens and mirror systems, integrating opto-mechanical assemblies with electronics, and performing essential test and evaluation tasks.
Responsibilities
+ Assemble and align multi-element lens and mirror systems and sub-assemblies.
+ Integrate opto-mechanical assemblies with electronics.
+ Perform optical and mechanical Test & Evaluation.
+ Assist with inspection of incoming optical, mechanical, and electronic components.
Essential Skills
+ Proficiency in using hand tools, blueprints, and mechanical assembly.
+ Understanding of proper handling of precision optics, mirrors, lenses, and filters.
+ High degree of precision and fine motor skills, with patience.
+ Ability to use a microscope.
+ Capability to read complex assembly drawings, diagrams, and instructions, and follow a logical sequence or specific set of rules.
Work Environment
You will work in a small team environment with a company in the early stages of growth. This role requires the ability to sit and concentrate for extended periods and communicate effectively in English.

Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Herndon, Virginia.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $20.00/hr.
