    Job Title: Field Technician

    Job Description

    Join our team as a Construction Field/Materials Technician, where you will perform field inspections and observations for commercial construction projects. You will receive full training in the use of necessary equipment to successfully accomplish your work, starting with assisting the pile team by counting piles and collecting samples.

    Responsibilities

    + Transport equipment, specimens, or documents to field personnel, clients, or other offices, and provide physical assistance in equipment set-up.

    + Prepare and submit written field reports summarizing daily activities, observations, and results.

    + Observe proof rolls, undercut operations, perform footing inspections with a dynamic cone penetrometer, and inspect rebar.

    + Monitor work procedures for compliance with project specifications.

    + Interact with client representatives at project sites.

    + Perform analysis or calculations to check the accuracy, applicability, and reasonableness of testing data.

    + Perform sampling or testing as directed.

    + Provide assistance to other field personnel.

    + Clean equipment, vehicles, and work areas.

    + Assist other technicians or professional staff on routine tasks.

    + Take on progressively increased roles of training and responsibility in work assignments.

    Essential Skills

    + Experience in testing, inspecting, and sampling in construction.

    + Ability to perform general labor tasks.

    + Proficiency in concrete and material sampling.

    + Basic computer skills.

    + Ability to conduct pile counting, soil testing, and asphalt testing.

    + Possession of an ACI certification is advantageous.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + Experience working outside and in general labor.

    + Experience in fast-paced environments.

    + Ability to bend, kneel, and reach.

    + Willingness to work long hours.

    Work Environment

     

    The role involves spending 90% of the time in the field, typically working 50-70 hours per week. Initially, the work will be on the first shift from 7am-7pm. After the pile project, the schedule will shift to night hours starting at 8pm, with work expected to be 12 hours per day from Monday to Saturday. Flexibility to work the first shift is required and will be communicated in advance.

    This is a Contract position based out of Savannah, Georgia.

     

    Pay and Benefits

     

    The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $19.00/hr.
