Job Title: Forklift Operator

Job Description

As a Forklift Operator, you will have the opportunity to work in either the Production Department or the Warehouse Department. Your role will involve handling raw materials and finished products, ensuring smooth operations and timely delivery.

Responsibilities

+ Unload raw materials from semi-trucks, including bins of vegetables, barrels, and palletized products such as glass, lids, labels, and film.

+ Load palletized finished products onto semi-trucks for distribution.

+ Depalletize shipments into smaller orders manually, with the heaviest item weighing 25 pounds.

+ Transport raw materials from the warehouse to production lines and move finished products to the warehouse for staging.

+ Assist production lines by operating a forklift and using hoses to spray production lines and barrels when necessary.

Essential Skills

+ Proficiency in operating sit-down forklifts, either gas or electric.

+ Understanding of loading patterns and inventory processes.

+ Experience with SAP systems and RF scanners.

+ At least 2+ years of recent forklift experience, with at least one year on a sit-down forklift.

+ Recent experience on a forklift within the last 6 months, spending at least half of the day operating it.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ Knowledgeable in warehouse, shipping and receiving, order picking, and production environments.

+ Commitment to forklift safety and adherence to GMP regulations.

Work Environment

This fast-paced food production facility requires you to be on your feet all day, performing repetitive motions. Expect a wet environment due to the juices of vegetables, with a pungent smell from items like vinegar, pepperoncini, jalapenos, and olives. Adhere to GMP regulations, including wearing hair nets, beard nets, and blue smocks. Personal items such as nails, lashes, polish, jewelry, and cell phones are not permitted in the production area.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of American Canyon, California.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $23.21 - $23.21/hr.
