Description

We are looking for a skilled and experienced (3-6+ years) Trademark Docketing Clerk to remotely join our team in New York, New York. This Contract-to-continuous position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the effective management of trademark docketing processes and ensure compliance with intellectual property regulations. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in docketing systems and a strong understanding of trademark procedures, coupled with exceptional organizational skills.

Responsibilities:

• Monitor and maintain the firm's trademark docketing system to ensure data integrity and accuracy.

• Develop and update procedural manuals and best practice materials related to docketing and trademark operations.

• Identify and address issues in case management, escalating concerns to attorneys or managers when necessary.

• Conduct quality reviews of docketing data and actions to guarantee accuracy.

• Generate and distribute timely reports, including daily, weekly, and monthly updates.

• Provide recommendations for improving or upgrading the docketing platform to enhance efficiency.

• Stay informed about updates in intellectual property laws and procedural changes, ensuring compliance within the trademark team.

• Assist in client intake and portfolio transfers, coordinating with internal departments to manage the process from start to finish.

• Perform research on trademark office websites to verify and update bibliographic data and case statuses.

• Monitor deadlines, make necessary updates for extensions or grace periods, and resolve discrepancies with attorney guidance.

Requirements

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in docketing or trademark-related roles.

• Proficiency in managing electronic docketing systems and databases, such as WebTMS.

• Strong knowledge of trademark procedures and intellectual property law.

• Ability to perform research and analyze data from trademark office websites.

• Exceptional organizational and time management skills to handle multiple deadlines effectively.

• Experience in creating and maintaining procedural manuals and best practice guides.

• Excellent communication skills to coordinate with team members and departments.

• Familiarity with scanning documents and handling preliminary title reports.
