Description

We are looking for an experienced Insurance Defense Paralegal with at least five years of relevant experience to join our team (initially on-site and eventually on a Hybrid basis) in New York, NY. This role focuses on insurance defense litigation and requires the ability to manage a high volume of cases with precision and attention to detail. As this is a Contract-to-Permanent position, it offers an excellent opportunity for long-term career growth within a dynamic legal environment.

Responsibilities:

• Handle a caseload of 80-90 insurance defense litigation files, ensuring each case progresses efficiently.

• Prepare and manage discovery documents, including drafting and responding to requests.

• E-file documents in NY state and federal courts, adhering to all procedural requirements.

• Coordinate trial preparation activities, ensuring all necessary materials and evidence are organized and ready.

• Utilize case management software to track deadlines, maintain case files, and communicate updates.

• Collaborate with attorneys to develop strategies and execute litigation tasks effectively.

• Review and analyze legal documents to identify pertinent information for case development.

• Maintain organized and accurate records, including correspondence, pleadings, and evidence.

• Leverage available templates and resources to streamline workflows and ensure consistency.

• Monitor case progress and proactively address any issues to avoid delays.

Requirements

• Minimum of five years of experience as a paralegal specializing in insurance defense litigation.

• Experience with court filings in both NY state and federal courts.

• Strong knowledge of discovery processes and civil litigation procedures.

• Proficiency in using case management software to organize and track case details.

• Familiarity with trial preparation, including organizing evidence and drafting trial documents.

• Ability to work independently and take ownership of assigned cases.

• Excellent organizational and time management skills to handle multiple priorities.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills for effective collaboration and correspondence.
