Description We are looking for an experienced Controller to join our team on a long-term contract basis in Westford, Massachusetts. This role offers an exciting opportunity to drive financial performance, enhance cost efficiency, and provide strategic support to business operations. As a key financial leader, you will utilize your expertise to ensure accurate accounting practices, compliance, and effective decision-making within a manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities:
• Lead efforts to improve cost analysis and profitability through proactive business partnership and collaboration.
• Analyze and present operational and financial metrics, ensuring clear communication of plant performance across various platforms.
• Facilitate financial training initiatives to enhance understanding and awareness among plant employees.
• Oversee accounting activities such as month-end close, fixed asset management, inventory valuation, and product costing to ensure accuracy and timeliness.
• Implement and monitor compliance with financial controls, including adherence to Sarbanes-Oxley regulations and audit standards.
• Develop and streamline processes to support faster decision-making and alignment with corporate objectives.
• Provide expert financial guidance to business leaders, ensuring alignment with division strategies and goals.
• Identify budget and forecast deviations, offering actionable insights to address variances.
• Support cost-saving initiatives by analyzing processes and driving improvements.
• Collaborate with production teams to understand manufacturing processes and their impact on financial outcomes. Requirements • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance is required; advanced degrees in accounting or finance are preferred.
• At least seven years of progressive experience in accounting, with a strong preference for candidates with manufacturing industry exposure.
• Ability to engage with production teams to understand processes, costs, and operations.
• Proven expertise in accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, auditing, budgeting, and forecasting.
• Familiarity with financial systems such as 3M, ADP Financial Services, CRM platforms, and Crystal Reports.
• Strong knowledge of compliance standards, including Sarbanes-Oxley regulations.
• Experience with KPI reporting and monthly close processes.
• Demonstrated ability to execute cost-saving initiatives and manage ad hoc responsibilities effectively.
