Job Description:
This person will be required to assist the ophthalmologists and optometrists in their patients’ eye examinations. This includes performing various vision tests, collecting medical data, monitoring and maintaining patient flow, scribing, and assisting physicians with various procedures; as well as assisting with various administrative duties within the Ophthalmology Department.
Minimum Qualifications:
Education: Minimum high school graduate or GED, or equivalent education and experience.
Licensure, Certification, Registration: Maintains CPR certification. Certified as an ophthalmic technician through the Joint Commission on Allied personnel in Ophthalmology. CPR certification.
Skills, Knowledge & Abilities: All skills listed in job description. In the absence of any of these skills, demonstrates the ability to be thoroughly trained to meet organizational standards.
Experience: At least 3 years experience working in ophthalmology and one year as an ophthalmic medical technician in ophthalmology.
**Preferred Qualifications:** COT certified, CPR certified and 2-year college degree, preferably some formal training in ophthalmic technology.
Pay Range:
$27.00 - $36.34
The pay range listed for this position is the base hourly wage range the organization reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for this position at this time. Actual compensation is determined based on several factors, that may include seniority, education, training, relevant experience, relevant certifications, geography of work location, job responsibilities, or other applicable factors permissible by law. Compensation may exceed the base hourly rate depending on shift differentials, call pay, premium pay, overtime pay, and other additional pay practices, as applicable to the position and in accordance with the law.
