Description
We are looking for an experienced Controller to join a dynamic, partner-owned healthcare practice based in Augusta, Georgia. This role involves overseeing financial operations across multiple entities and locations, ensuring accurate reporting, and leading a lean accounting team. If you have a background in healthcare or medical practice finance and thrive in a leadership role, this position offers an exciting opportunity to make an impact.
Responsibilities:
• Manage daily accounting operations, including supervising a team of three accounting professionals.
• Review and finalize month-end closing activities to ensure accuracy and compliance.
• Develop and oversee financial forecasting, budgeting, and strategic planning processes.
• Prepare and analyze profit and loss statements for multiple entities and locations.
• Collaborate with banks and external accounting firms to maintain financial integrity.
• Lead and mentor the accounting team, fostering growth and driving improvements where needed.
• Act as a key financial advisor to the partners, serving as the primary resource for financial decision-making.
• Navigate complex financial scenarios, including cash basis collections and insurance adjustments.
• Utilize Sage Intacct for financial management and oversee the transition from QuickBooks Online.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant financial regulations and reporting requirements.
Requirements • Minimum of 7 years of accounting experience, preferably within healthcare or medical practice settings.
• Strong knowledge of multi-entity accounting and partnership structures.
• Proven expertise in month-end close processes, budgeting, and financial forecasting.
• Demonstrated ability to lead and develop a team, with excellent interpersonal and leadership skills.
• Proficiency in Sage Intacct or similar financial software, with experience in system migrations being a plus.
• Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret complex financial data.
• Excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with partners and external stakeholders.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA certification is highly desirable.
