    PCSI is looking for a Job Placement Coordinator for the San Antonio metro area! The Job Placement Coordinator works closely with Texas Workforce Commission's Vocational Rehabilitation Services programs to advocate for job seekers with disabilities, often focused on youth 22 and under. This position provides a range of support to clients with disabilities such as job placement services, job skills training, and other life skills support to prepare for successful employment. The Job Placement Coordinator also plays a key role in establishing new relationships with local employers and developing new employment programs.

     

    The ideal candidate will have demonstrated experience in case management, community networking, and job placement, as well as experience working with people with disabilities. This position is heavily involved in PCSI's mission to enhance the lives of people with disabilities, so a passion for this mission is a must!

     

    This position works in PCSI's San Antonio Vocational Rehabilitation office and regularly travels throughout San Antonio to meet with community partners.

    What You'll Do as Job Placement Coordinator:

    + Serve as PCSI’s primary liaison to local Texas Workforce Commission Vocational Rehabilitation Services (TWC-VRS) Counselor staff for purposes of acquiring new lines of business and sustaining a consistent VRS customer pipeline.

    + Learn, understand, and share information about individual TWC-VRS counselors' preferred ways of conducting business.

    + Ensure team quality assurance standards are met or exceeded.

    + Schedule and attend job placement meetings.

    + Teach job acquisition, job retention, and other soft skills to TWC-VRS customers.

    + Serve as Company liaison to area employer representatives and VRS counselors.

    + Ensure job applications and surveys are completed in the manner expected by the respective employer(s).

    + Document progress, maintain case management notes, and prepare various TWC-VRS reports in support of the Company, mission and TWC-VRS programs.

    + Support, implement, report, and follow up on positive behavior and potential behavior intervention episodes.

    + Advocate for assigned customers to ensure vocational needs, desires, and employment goals are known, addressed, and accomplished.

    + Support independence with independent living skills, e.g., transportation training, as necessary for job success.

    + Perform classroom set-up duties as necessary to include quality checks and curriculum preparedness to ensure smooth workflow.

    + Work closely with customers and employees to develop positive relationships within and outside of VRS offices.

    + Research, develop, and secure relationships that foster training and employment opportunities for people with disabilities. Assist with the development and implementation of community-based, external employment programs.

    + Actively participate and regularly attend TWC-VRS case reviews, employment services planning meetings, and client staff trainings/meetings by sharing information, contributing ideas, facilitating communication, and actively listening.

    What You'll Need:

    + Bachelor’s Degree strongly preferred – will consider High School Diploma + 2 years related college experience.

    + Minimum two (2) years of experience advocating, training and developing people with various disabilities in a vocational setting required.

    + Experience working in Pre-Employment Transition Services (Pre-ETS) and TWC Work Readiness environments preferred.

    + Certification in Job Skills Training for the State of Texas is preferred.

    + Certification in Job Placement for the State of Texas is preferred.

    + Certification in Supported Employment Specialist for the State of Texas preferred.

    + Bilingual in English/Spanish is a plus.

    Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

    + Operational knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint is required.

    + Experience with SharePoint and Office 365 is preferred.

    + Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills.

    + Knowledge of disability documentation, case notes and evaluations preferred.

    + Knowledge of JWOD Act, AbilityOne, CIE interpretations, and SourceAmerica a plus.

    + Knowledge of community social services and case management techniques preferred.

    + Requires knowledge of PC functions and Software.

    + Ability to work in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.

    + Ability to set and manage priorities.

    + Highly self-motivated and directed, with keen attention to detail.

    + High level of integrity and confidentiality is required.

    Other Requirements:

    + Ability to pass criminal, drug, financial, and driving screening.

    + May need to have the ability to legally drive a company vehicle.

    + Ability to remain in a stationary position regularly, up to 85% of the time.

    + Ability to work flexible hours to include mornings, nights, weekends, and holidays.

    + Occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc. and carry office materials and supplies up to 20 pounds.

    + Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as calculator, phone, fax, copier, etc. and a personal computer.

    + Ability to exchange accurate information in person and over the phone.

    + Primarily works indoors.

    + Local travel required, up to 25%.
