Job Title: Senior Systems Engineer Job Location: Washington, DC

Job Responsibilities

In support of Naval Research Labs in DC, lead the transformation of enterprise IT systems toward a secure, continually improved, future ready state.

Responsibilities:

+ Endpoint Management: Overseeing all workstation (non-server) systems. This includes deploying monthly Microsoft patches according to NRL policies, verifying successful installations, and coordinating system restarts per the approved maintenance schedule.

+ Operating System Deployments: Handling full OS rollouts along with required drivers and BIOS updates using MECM.

+ Third-Party Application Management: Creating and maintaining deployment packages for apps like Adobe Acrobat, Chrome, Edge, Teams, etc. These are updated and distributed through MECM on a continual basis.

+ Vulnerability Remediation via Assured Compliance Assessment Solutions (ACAS)

+ Vulnerability scanning

+ Vulnerability analysis

+ Automating scans

+ Establish procedures and train supporting staff to deliver product evaluation, infrastructure design, systems integration, security/information assurance and management throughout the entire system life cycle.

+ Lead the optimization and security of geographically distributed communications systems and network architectures in a large-scale client/server and web environment, including Linux, Windows, VMWare, NetApp systems.

+ Lead optimization of all phases of hardware architecture and systems integration, including the configuration, management and maintenance of an enterprise level backup and COOP solution (hardware and software) and storage area network environments.

+ Implement best practices and train the supporting teams to ensure continual improvement of enterprise systems, proactive operating procedures, and rapid, methodical response to systemic or user issues.

Minimum Qualifications

+ Clearance: Active Secret with Tier 5 investigation

+ Certification: Comp Tia Security

+ + Experience:

+ Requires a minimum of ten (10) years of specialized experience in product evaluation, infrastructure design, systems integration, security/information assurance and management throughout the entire system life cycle.

+ Requires a minimum of two (2) years of general experience that includes knowledge of communications systems and network architectures in a large-scale client/server and web environment, and that includes either Linux, Windows or VMWare systems administration.

+ Requires experience in all phases of hardware architecture and systems integration, particularly the configuration, management and maintenance of an enterprise level backup solution (hardware and software) and storage area network environment.

+ Must possess good interpersonal, communications, and analytical skills.

Desired Qualification

+ ACAS certification/training

+ Experience remediating vulnerabilities by scanning and analysis in ACAS

+ Able to creating custom dashboards and reports in ACAS

+ Experience deploying Microsoft and third-party patches from MECM

Education

+ High School Diploma/GED
