Position Overview:
The Siemens Project Management Office (PMO) is looking for a
Project Manager - Customer Services (CS) to join our team in Electrification
and Automation (EA). The Electrification & Automation business unit covers
the entire spectrum for power distribution systems and service solutions. As a
CS Project Manager, you will be responsible for the successful execution of
projects, from project initiation through final closeout. You will work in a
matrix style organization requiring excellent coordination skills and the
ability to manage competing priorities. Headquartered in Wendell, NC, the EA
PMO executes a diverse portfolio of projects, and this position will be focused
on service solutions within our Customer Services business. This role comes

people with a growth mindset. As a customer-facing team, we keep customer
satisfaction at the forefront as we manage large projects in a fast-paced
environment.
This position can be remote or based out of Wendell, NC
Project and System Types:
Project Types - installation and commissioning, turn key,
design build, engineer, procure, construct (EPC), power system studies,
maintenance outage testing and electrical system emergency response/disaster
recovery, electrical retrofit managing teams of field service engineers as well
as 3 rd party suppliers, consultants and contractors
Product types: Low and medium voltage air insulated
switchgear, medium voltage gas insulated switchgear and switches, low voltage
panelboards and automatic transfer switches, air and liquid filled
transformers, motor control centers, medium voltage contactors, integrated
e-house electrical solution systems, battery systems, electrical cable systems
and busways, cable, connectors and supporting systems.
Primary responsibilities:
+ Directall phases of projects as described above from inception throughcompletion.
+ Ensurethat we pre-identify and mitigate safety risks across on our serviceprojects to guarantee safe completion of our service activities.
+ Responsiblefor the budget, schedule, quality, and performance of the assignedproject(s).
+ Effectivelycommunicate project expectations to team members and stakeholders in atimely and clear fashion.
+ Provideregular updates to team, management, and PMO on work performed, plans,budget, and overall status.
+ Identifyproject problems and obtain solutions, such as allocation of resources orchanging contractual specifications.
+ Managecustomer expectations across the project cycle by regularly communicatingour project milestone statuses, resource activities, and other serviceproject related actions.
+ Prepareand/or work with application engineering team to develop change orderquotations for additional service requests during the project.
+ Proactiveand frequent communications with our Lead Field Service Representativeworking at the customer site.
+ Communicateto finance partners, scheduled completion, and revenue forecasting monthlyfor all assigned projects
+ ProvideLessons Learned feedback to our front end offers team to ensure weconstantly are improving our offers and helping mitigate any unclear itemsfor our customers.
+ Ensureall project and service requirements are identified, understood, andsatisfied throughout the order life cycle.
+ Identifyareas of risk within assigned projects and develop mitigation strategies
+ Defineand develop requests for quote for 3rd party services as well asmaterials. Participate in vendor pricing and contract negotiations
+ Manage3rd party vendors/suppliers monitoring and controlling agreed upon scope,schedule, budget
+ Workwith internal commercial team to maintain client relationships
+ Collaborationwith internal/external team members, vendors and/or project managers todevelop site schedules
+ Reviewand understand project contractual obligations such as change orderprocess, liquidated damages, claims processes, specification requirements,etc.
+ Developproject execution plans such as quality & testing plans, projectschedule, risk registers and manpower plans
+ Identifyand assign project resources ranging from engineering to field personnel
+ Monitorand controlling functions as it relates to continuously evaluating projectperformance vs budget/schedule.
+ Developingand implementing recovery plans to correct project performance issues.
Basic Qualifications:
+ Bachelor’sDegree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
+ 5+years of direct service project management experience.
+ 5+years presenting complex issues to multi-level audiences and effectivelycommunicate progress, status and issues to internal and externalCustomers.
+ Proficiencyin English both written and verbal
+ Applicantsmust be authorized for employment in the U.S. without the need foremployer sponsored work authorization now or in the future
Preferred Qualifications:
+ Adegree in engineering or construction management
+ PMPcertification – while not required immediately for this role, for thosewho do not have it already, obtaining PMP certification is required within1 year of employment
+ Adegree in engineering or construction management
+ Experiencein specific industry related to service project e.g., field service, EPCprojects, construction, energy, manufacturing
+ Anunderstanding of medium and/or high voltage electrical equipment
+ Anunderstanding of datacenter construction projects
+ Experiencewith MS Project or other relevant scheduling software
+ Strongleadership skills with experience in leading cross-functional projectteams
+ Excellentwritten and verbal communication skills, to present complex issues tomulti-level audiences and effectively communicate progress, status, andissues to internal and external Customers.
