A Snapshot of Your Day
As a Rotor Mechanical Engineer, you will play a key role in
the design, development, testing and optimization of Large Electric Generators
for the Fossil and Nuclear Power industry. You will develop recommendations for
new products, processes, or design changes to an evolving market and customer
requirements. In addition, apply advanced skills to resolve complex problems,
not covered by existing procedures or practices.
The ideal candidate displays a high level of critical
thinking in bringing successful resolution to high-impact, complex, and/or
multi-functional problems. They will be highly organized and possess a strong
background in CAD/CAE fundamentals, GD&T methods, machine design, failure
mode analysis and product development processes.
How You’ll Make an Impact
+ Execute engineeringoptimization studies. Interface with manufacturing engineering and supplymanagement to assure competitive and cost-efficient designs.
+ Contribute to theConceptional, Basic and Detailed design of Large Electric Generators for bothService and New Apparatus product.
+ Perform complex analyticalstudies of generator components using ANSYS or similar code. Prepare detailedProduct Definition, including CAD Models, technical drawings and Bills ofMaterials.
+ Contribute to thepreparation and execution of Design Reviews as required by internalrequirements. Release engineering information to support the manufacture andservice repair of Generator Rotors, Stators, Exciters, and Collector products.
+ Support manufacturing withtechnical advice, troubleshooting, co-operative problem solving, disposition ofproduct deviations, process reviews, and execution of design improvements.
+ Assist in theresolution/remediation of product issues and participate in root causeanalyses. Communicate effectively with customers, suppliers, and manufacturingpersonnel through clear, concise and complete verbal and written instructions,specifications, and reports.
What You Bring
+ BS degree in MechanicalEngineering, MSME is a plus! 3+ years’ experience in design (experience inanalytics, data science, Finite Element Analysis), analysis, and/or maintenanceof rotating machinery; in the power generation industry preferred.
+ Previous experience indesign, analysis, and/or maintenance of rotating machinery; in the powergeneration industry preferred.
+ Demonstrated experience inCAD, GD&T and CAE fundamentals.
+ Previous experience withSAP, Teamcenter, and NX Modeling Software knowledge is a plus.
+ Detail-oriented with good analytical skills.Self-motivated and able to collaborate effectively in a team setting withexcellent communication skills.
+ Willing to travel (10%).
