Job Description:
_The Forklift Operator/Material Handler is responsible for loading and moving product throughout the plant._
Duties and Responsibilities
+ Operate forklifts and equipment properly and adhere to all safety requirements in the work area.
+ Receive and distribute incoming packages and mail.
+ Assist in pulling materials from racks
+ Sort product for quality demand
+ Sort and place Canada returns
+ Load skids
+ Wrap skids to ensure tools are not damaged during shipment.
+ Ensure freight is not damaged or missing before signing off on freight bill.
+ Interact professionally with colleagues and customers
+ Practice 5S and safety
+ Take appropriate corrective action for continuous quality improvement and customer satisfaction.
+ React to change effectively and handle other tasks as assigned, including working other shifts as needed.
Physical Demands
+ Sitting for long periods of time
+ Repetitive motion
+ Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds
+ Frequent bending, stooping, pushing and pulling of parts and containers
+ Able to work in various temperature conditions
Education and Experience Requirements:
+ High School or GED diploma required
+ Experience in shipping and receiving (prefer experience in manufacturing)
+ High attention to detail
+ Forklift experience required
+ Strong verbal communication skills
