As a CE IE, you will perform a key role in delivering the core infrastructure and foundational technologies for Microsoft's online services including Bing, Office 365, Xbox, OneDrive, and the Microsoft Azure platform.     Responsibilities

    Responsibilities:

    + Develop end-to-end expertise in Industrial Control Systems (ICS), including interactions between technology layers, components, infrastructure functions, and dependencies at scale.

    + Independently adjust configurations and define infrastructures to improve availability, reliability, efficiency, observability, and performance of ICS.

    + Create new procedures and processes to self-perform changes on ICS.

    + Create, monitor, and act on telemetry data; influence analytics to identify patterns revealing errors or inefficiencies.

    + Respond to incidents per DC Incident Management Tier Support process, including complex issues with major business impact; troubleshoot, deploy fixes, and implement lessons learned.

    + Drive reviews with partner teams that design, commission, and operate ICS, identifying operational efficiencies and sharing recommendations.

    Qualifications

    Required Qualifications:

    + Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Data Science, Cybersecurity, or related field

    + AND 3+ years technical experience in software engineering, network engineering, service engineering, systems engineering, or industrial controls

    + OR equivalent experience

    + 3+ years within a Data Center environment

    Background Check Requirements:

    Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:

     

    + Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

    Preferred Qualifications** **:

    + 3+ years of experience in an operational, mission-critical, 24x7x365 facility.

    + 2+ years of experience with operation and maintenance of building electrical systems (Power distribution, grounding, fire alarm, and related controls) and mechanical systems (HVAC, Chilled Water, DX Refrigerant, Evaporative, and related controls).

    + 1.5+ years of experience in design and/or commissioning of ICS in datacenter critical environments, including Modbus and BACnet protocols.

    + Experience within power plants and/or utilities.

    + Project management experience with a focus on agile methodologies.

    + Knowledge of construction techniques and ability to interpret blueprints and construction documents.

    + Ability to manage and execute multiple concurrent mission-critical infrastructure projects.

    + Ability to balance competing resource demands and adapt to changing priorities.

    + Proven ability to deliver projects on time and meet deadlines.

    + Provide meaningful and timely reporting for weekly success metrics.

    + Established understanding of Electrical Power Monitoring Systems, Battery Control Modules, Building Automation Systems and/or Building Management System.

     

    Site Reliability Engineering IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $119,800 - $234,700 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $158,400 - $258,000 per year.
