In CoreAI, we’re ensuring responsible development and deployment of the next generation of cutting-edge generative AI models like GPT-5. If you join our Responsible AI team as a Principal Product Manager for Responsible AI, you will join an organization committed to partnering with stakeholders across policy, research, and engineering to help every product team in Microsoft and our customers ship these evolving technologies responsibly.
On the Responsible AI team, we work to ensure that each new product or technology we build is developed and used responsibly. In this role, you will drive Responsible AI product innovation to design and develop new technologies to address the potential risks of emerging AI and enable developers to successfully and safely use it in real-world applications.
This role requires a deep understanding of generative AI use cases and responsible AI, a keen sense of product to support responsible AI commitments while keeping product innovation in mind, and a technical background to develop responsible AI measurement and mitigation techniques.
Responsibilities
As a Principal Product Manager for Responsible AI, you will build and drive state of the art products that enable customers to apply AI responsibly. Your responsibilities will include:
+ Develop a deep understanding of generative AI technology, customer use cases, and responsible AI practices.
+ Spend significant time with customers, homing in on successful patterns and trends to drive new product design and development.
+ Use creative product thinking to synthesize successful solutions into scalable cloud services.
+ Partner closely with engineers and scientists to build models, APIs, services, and complex systems at scale.
+ Be an evangelist for the technology – showcasing successful applications with blogs and demos.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
+ Bachelor’s Degree AND 10+ years experience in product management
+ OR equivalent experience.
+ 8+ years experience in a product management role, designing and shipping complex products for developers, ML professionals, or similar.
+ 5+ years of experience in machine learning and/or AI
Other Requirements:
Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:
+ Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
Preferred Qualifications:
+ Experience in Responsible AI or Digital Safety
+ Experience with Generative AI.
+ Deep understanding of NLU/NLP/NLG and language models
+ Master’s degree or PhD in Machine Learning, NLP, Computational Linguistics or Ethical AI.
Product Management IC6 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $163,000 - $296,400 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $220,800 - $331,200 per year.
