Corporate Tax - Vice President

Join our Corporate Tax Department as a Vice President in the Federal Tax Controversy group, reporting to the Head of Federal Tax Controversy. In this role, you will play a critical part in supporting the group by assisting with IRS audit inquiries and accounting for audit adjustments. The ideal candidate will have experience supporting IRS audits, a strong background in accounting, and familiarity with tax return preparation.
Job Responsibilities:
+ Support IRS audits by ensuring timely responses to IRS Information Document Requests.
+ Gather and validate data while collaborating with internal stakeholders to address IRS inquiries and audit matters.
+ Serve as a primary point of contact with the IRS, maintaining professional relationships and facilitating effective communication.
+ Analyze audit findings and provide recommendations to resolve issues.
+ Track and account for audit adjustments and ensure accurate documentation.
Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills:
+ Minimum of 6 years of tax compliance and audit experience within an accounting firm or corporate tax department, preferably in financial services.
+ Experience representing taxpayers before the IRS, with a strong understanding of IRS audit procedural rules.
+ Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, including strong presentation abilities.
+ Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to build collaborative relationships across departments and with external stakeholders.
+ Advanced research and analytical skills, with keen attention to detail and the ability to develop and adapt complex tax models.
+ Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; familiarity with research tools such as Checkpoint, BNA, CCH, and similar platforms. Experience with TaxInterest Netting software and OneSource or other tax preparation software is a plus.
Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills:
+ Active Certified Public Accountant or Attorney license.
+ Master's degree in Accounting or Tax or Law Degree.
