System One is actively seeking a mid-level Electrical Engineer to join our client’s team in Tampa, FL on a direct hire basis.
This role offers the opportunity to work hands-on with advanced flight simulation systems, reworking and testing electrical designs while integrating hardware and software (C/C++) to deliver fully functional, high-quality training devices.
Position Overview
The Electrical Engineer will design, rework, and support electrical systems for high-tech simulation and training equipment. Responsibilities include AC/DC power distribution, I/O integration, and hardware interfacing through communication protocols such as MIL-1553, ARINC-429, and Ethernet.
This role collaborates closely with software, mechanical, and systems engineers to ensure seamless integration and manufacturability across all simulation components.
Key Responsibilities
+ Design, modify, and document AC/DC power distribution, grounding, I/O, and network systems
+ Support hardware and software integration using C and C++ for simulator functionality
+ Interface avionics and simulation hardware using communication protocols (MIL-1553, ARINC-429, Ethernet, etc.)
+ Specify, source, and test hardware components; collaborate with vendors and suppliers
+ Create and maintain detailed electrical schematics and manufacturing documentation
+ Participate in design and requirements reviews, troubleshooting, and acceptance testing
Qualifications
+ Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
+ 3–4+ years of experience in electrical or hardware system design
+ Hands-on experience with AC/DC power distribution, grounding, and I/O systems
+ Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
+ Excellent documentation and communication abilities
+ Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, etc.)
Preferred Qualifications
+ Experience with Altium Design and PCB design tools
+ Exposure to Embedded C/C++ programming for system integration
+ Background in electronics manufacturing or hardware-based environments
+ Knowledge of simulation or training systems a plus
