**VCA Arboretum View Animal Hospital** is expanding its **Interventional Radiology/ Internal Medicine** Patient Care Team!

We’re seeking experienced **Veterinary Technicians** to join our 24-hour emergency and specialty referral hospital. As part of our dedicated team, you’ll have the opportunity to work alongside experts in Internal Medicine, Surgery, Oncology, and Emergency & Critical Care, as well as in our Interventional Radiology/Endoscopy, Nuclear Medicine, and Extracorporeal Therapy departments.

The Interventional Radiology Technician position is a full-time position offers four 10-hour shifts per week, allowing for a great balance of career challenge and personal time.

**Compensation:** $23 - $ 34 / hour

The starting range for technicians is determined by license, skill set, and years of experience in the field.

**Schedule:** This is a full-time position, typically 4 x 10 hour shifts.

Snapshot of Our Internal Medicine and Interventional Radiology Team:

VCA Arboretum View's IM/IR Technicians better understand body systems and the disease process, learn advanced diagnostic testing, provide excellent patient care, and treat patients with cutting-edge techniques.

With the mentorship of our Internist and Specialists, our Internal Medicine Technicians have advanced training and a better understanding of Endocrinology, Cardiology, Gastroenterology, Hematology, Immunology, Infectious Diseases, Nephrology/Urology, Neurology, Respiratory Diseases and Oncology.

+ Collecting patient histories and performing physical exams.

+ IVC placement

+ Obtain laboratory samples via venipuncture, cystocentesis, and fecal collection

+ Gather and prepare tissue samples for culture and histopathologic diagnostic

+ Performing laboratory work and diagnostic imaging

+ Assisting in diagnostic procedures such as endoscopy, rhinoscopy, and fluoroscopy

+ Working collaboratively with team members of all hospital services.

+ Calculate drug dosages

+ Anesthesia monitoring for diagnostic procedures and interventional radiology procedures

+ Assisting with postoperative care of the patient (recovery)

+ Maintain patient records

+ Client education and communication

+ Maintain a clean work environment to maintain any infectious disease protocols, handle medical/biomedical and infectious waste appropriately
