    Support Teacher Job Description

     

    We are currently searching for a confident and experienced support teacher to join our team. If you are a friendly and competent professional with an interest in education, then we're interested in you. Support teacher are utilized by Buffalo Academy of Science to shall assist with assigned classes. Support Teachers must be able to follow oral and written directions. Establishing effective working relationships with staff and students is very important.

     

    To excel in this role, you should have in-depth knowledge of effective teaching practices that ensure learning is a comfortable and meaningful experience. Our ideal candidate has excellent interpersonal and organizational skills, with a strong command of the English language. Furthermore, our ideal candidate has the ability to create a good rapport with students and co-workers. As a BuffSci support teacher, it is expected that you have sufficient knowledge of effective teaching methods and how to work with students in a positive manner.

     

    Support Teacher RESPONSIBILITIES

     

    Support Teacher shall assist with assigned classes.

     

    Support Teacher shall attend weekly collaboration meetings.

     

    Support Teacher shall help supervise advisory classes as assigned.

     

    Support Teacher shall record student attendance.

     

    Support Teacher shall monitor student activity and behavior in the hallways.

     

    Support Teacher shall mentor and monitor students in clubs and activities.

     

    Support Teacher shall assist with the coordination, facilitation and/or participation in any activities scheduled by the school, including extra-curricular activities for the students

     

    Support Teacher shall supervise breakfast or lunch duty, dismissals, and/or in-school suspension (ISS) as assigned.

     

    Support Teacher shall be responsible for assisting with the cleanliness and tidiness of his/her classrooms.

     

    Support Teacher shall make sure the classroom is left clean and tidy by the end of the school day.

     

    Perform all other duties and responsibilities as directed by BuffSci in a competent and faithful manner.

     

    Professional dress is required.

     

    Job Types: Full-time, Contract

     

    Salary: $30,000.00 per year
