About this Job
The mission of the Louisiana Veterans Homes is to primarily serve the veteran population of Louisiana by providing medical, restorative, and rehabilitative services in an atmosphere of respect and compassion. The primary objective of the home is to provide quality nursing care to eligible veterans, with the ultimate goal of returning them to the highest possible levels of physical and mental capacity.
The Louisiana Veterans Homes is seeking a hardworking and dependable Food Service 1/2/3 to assist with the sufficient preparation and operation of the Dietary department . This role is vital in ensuring basic-level food service preparation duties within the food service operation. The ideal candidate a team player, willing to learn, and be able to maintain job requirements in a fast-paced environment. Join our dedicated team in serving those who served.
An ideal candidate will possess the following competencies:

Job Duties and Other Information
Job Duties:
The Food Service Specialist 1/2/3 requires dietary work for the Louisiana Veterans' Home and will perform specific functions such as:
+ Prepares salads; cuts desserts; makes tea, jello, and sandwiches; and fills salt and pepper shakers prior to mealtime.
+ Washes, chops, and cuts vegetables; opens cans and assists food preparation specialists in preparing foods prior to cooking.
+ Measures and assembles ingredients.
+ Washes dishes and pots.
+ Performs duties that involve the cleaning and sanitation of the food service area.
