    PDS Defense, Inc. is seeking a **747 Avionics Technician Level 3 in San Antonio, TX. JOB ID#: 213262**

     

    ****Will Require Onsite Interview in San Antonio, TX****

    **Shift:** Variable shifts (1st, 2nd & 3rd) based on business needs

    **Travel:** Potential for up to 25%

    **Security Clearance:** Ability to obtain Secret Clearance

    **Interview Requirement:** Onsite interview in San Antonio, TX is required

     

    Seeking a highly skilled **747 Avionics Technician Level 3** to support depot-level maintenance and modification activities. In this role, you'll perform complex electrical and avionics tasks on aircraft systems, ensuring precision and compliance with engineering specifications.

    Key Responsibilities

    + Perform connector terminations including shielded wires, coaxial cables, and fiber optic wiring

    + Route and handle wire harnesses per routing instructions

    + Seal, wrap, bond, tie, and close wire harnesses and cables per standard processes

    + Read and interpret engineering drawings, technical orders, process specifications, and retrofit requirements

    + Use tooling assemblies and fixtures for depot-level electrical wiring modifications and repairs

    + Assemble, install, inspect, and modify wire bundles and electrical assemblies

    + Conduct operational and quality checks of aircraft systems

    + Troubleshoot organizational and depot-level malfunctions in aircraft electrical and comms/nav systems

    + Interpret work instructions, charts, tables, blueprints, wire diagrams, formulas, sketches, and electronic orders

    + Operate riding-type electric powered elevating equipment

    + Coordinate, prepare, and move materials and tools

    + Maintain necessary certifications, licenses, and permits

    + Perform duties of lower electrical classifications as needed

    Physical & Functional Requirements

    + Ascend/descend vertical ladders; work in confined spaces

    + Lift loads up to 35 lbs; occasional 2-person lifts for heavier items

    + Frequent exposure to noise and elevated platforms

    + Use personal protective gear (face, eyes, ears, hands, arms)

    + Pass visual acuity and color perception tests

    + Read, write, and comprehend English

    + Handle, use, and dispose of hazardous materials

    + Maintain training certifications as required

    + Frequent reaching overhead, walking, standing, and balancing

    + Occasional climbing on 3–12 ft ladders or stands

    + Perform finger manipulation (1–3 hrs), crawling, squatting, bending/stooping, lying down

    + Operate foot controls for extended periods

    + Occasional contact with metals

    Basic Qualifications

    + 10+ years of experience with electrical/electronic theories and avionics systems

    + 10+ years of experience working with schematics, specifications, and assembly drawings

    + 10+ years of experience with component and wire installation, repair, modification, testing, and troubleshooting

    + Ability to work variable shifts including weekends and overtime

    + High School Diploma or GED

    + Ability to obtain Secret Clearance

    + Regular and predictable attendance required

    Preferred Qualifications

    + Experience with avionics and depot-level/modification maintenance

    + FAA certification in Airframe and/or Power Plant

    + Experience operating forklifts, mobile cranes, and powered elevating equipment
