             **Company:** The Davey Tree Expert Company **Locations:** Kent, OH **Additional Locations:** NA **Work Site:** On Site **Req ID:** 217411 Position Overview The **IT – System Administrator** is responsible for the configuration, maintenance, and performance of the company’s on-premise and cloud-based server environments. This role requires a strong background in both Linux and Windows operating systems, with an emphasis on advancing our Linux administration standards, and monitoring capabilities. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter who can collaborate with our team and help mature our cross-platform server management processes. The **IT – System Administrator** is an **exempt** position. Job Duties + Administer, maintain, and optimize both Linux and Windows Server systems in production and development environments. + Configure, maintain, and enhance infrastructure monitoring systems, ensuring effective visibility across server and application environments. + Define acceptable operating thresholds and performance parameters for critical systems and ensure the team receives meaningful and actionable alerts when systems deviate from these baselines. + Manage data backup processes and ensure the ability to recover data in case of system failures. + Maintain clear documentation of configurations, processes, and system dependencies. + Install and update software applications, ensuring compatibility and security. + Work closely with the Network, Security, and Application teams to ensure systems are secure, compliant, and highly available. + Work with end users to diagnose and resolve advanced server, network, and application issues that require deeper technical expertise. + Participate in incident response, root cause analysis, and problem resolution for server-related issues. + Contribute to capacity planning, performance tuning, and disaster recovery efforts. + Perform other related duties as assigned. + Follow all company policies, procedures, and work rules. Competencies + Demonstrates advanced knowledge of IT systems, including operating systems, network configurations, and security protocols. + Exhibits strong analytical skills to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues efficiently. + Possesses excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with team members, vendors, and end-users. + Maintains high accuracy in managing IT systems, documentation, and troubleshooting processes + Works well within a team environment, contributing to collective goals and supporting colleagues. + Shows willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies, tools, and processes as they evolve. + Provides exceptional support to end-users, ensuring their technical needs are met promptly and effectively. + Manages multiple tasks and projects efficiently, prioritizing workload to meet deadlines. + Understands and implements security measures to protect organizational data and IT infrastructure. + Seeks opportunities for improving IT systems and processes, staying updated with industry trends and best practices. Working Conditions + **In-Office Requirements:** This position requires in-office presence in our Kent, Ohio location.
