Job description:

Title - DB2 Database Administrator SME

The DB2 Administrator is responsible for the installation and maintenance of database management systems (DBMS) such as DB2, SnowFlake, MySQL, SQL and Postgres servers.

• Perform database installation, configuration, and maintenance tasks.

• Monitor and optimize database performance, ensuring efficient operations. Performance and capacity tuning of system parameters and resources, utilizing various monitoring and reporting tools.

• Perform problem analysis and resolution, both technical and application-related

• Implement and maintain database security policies and procedures.

• Troubleshoot and resolve database-related issues on time.

• Collaborate with development teams to support database requirements for applications.

• Plan and execute database backup and recovery strategies.

• Stay updated on industry best practices and new features in DB2.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience as DBA in supporting applications using database DB2 products.

• Strong experience in Installation and configuration of Databases, Backup, restoring databases, setting up High Availability, Disaster recovery, performance tuning, RAC administration, regular Housekeeping, etc.

• Strong knowledge of database security principles and best practices.

• Ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex database issues.

• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

• Relevant certifications (e.g., IBM Certified Database Administrator) are a plus.
