             Job Summary Responsible for the maintenance and support of a large electronic health record environment including upgrades, integrations, troubleshooting, system design and modification, new module implementation, and other activities related to the daily care and feeding of the environment. This posting reflects an opening for an Electronic Health Record Analyst I and we are seeking candidates for that position. Geisinger reserves the right to consider applicants for higher levels of this role to include an Electronic Health Record Analyst II based on their skills, qualifications, and experience. Job Duties + Develops a strong understanding of assigned applications, modules and integrations. + Possess operating knowledge of the underlying technologies associated with a typical large scale electronic health record environment including client/server architecture, Active Directory, LAN/WAN fundamentals, Cloud architecture and related concepts, storage fundamentals, virtualization technologies, application delivery/presentation, database fundamentals, web-based applications and certificates, security, performance and troubleshooting tools, among others. + Possess operating knowledge of Windows based workstations, iOS and Android based mobile platforms, and common peripherals including document and barcode scanners, print devices, point of sale devices, electronic signature devices, cameras, among others. + Meets with relevant personnel to gather information and observe workflows. + Understands the current and proposed standard workflows. Identifies opportunities to streamline the workflow to gain efficiencies. + Produces documentation including current and future state workflows, pros/cons, gap analysis, needs assessments, design specifications, build documentation, test plans, project plans, status reports and transitionary documentation. + Performs application testing including scenario-based and parallel testing. + Learns to apply critical thinking to problem solving and strives to understand the root cause of the issue. + Communicates effectively with peers, informaticians, stakeholders, project teams, and leadership. Provides regular updates regarding work status via standard documentation tools and/or huddles, meetings, etc. Learns and begins to apply appropriate issue escalation. + Completes system build and documentation in accordance with department guidelines and in adherence to change management policy. + Actively participates in meetings by being an engaged listener and offering both feedback and input. + Adheres to best practices regarding information security. + Participates in team on-call rotation to provide 24x7x365 support to assigned areas. + Provides remote and/or on-site support as needed to end-users. + Supports system upgrades, patches, and monitoring. + Assists in the preparation of department guidelines, standards, procedures, and policies. + Participates in vendor review and selection processes. + Willing to obtain & maintain appropriate certification/s as deemed necessary in-order to successfully fulfill job obligations/responsibilities. For example, specific vendor certification in client systems or application management. Work is typically performed in an office or remote environment.
