POSITION SUMMARY:
The Financial Analyst, Operations is responsible for providing financial support to all manufacturing locations, serving as a key business partner and change agent, by driving continuous improvement and achievement of plant targets. This role will assist the Plant Controller and Operations Finance Manager in the planning, monitoring, evaluating, and reporting of the company’s manufacturing performance.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
+ Support the month-end close of manufacturing costs (accruals, operational variances, efficiencies, etc.). Prepare and submit necessary journal entries to ensure accurate financial reporting.
+ Own the accuracy of item setups for raw materials and packaging items, which includes assigning standard costs for proper inventory valuation and financial reporting
+ Provide ongoing variance analysis, such as material usage, department expenses, and disposals, and lead meetings with operations to communicate results and understand variance drivers.
+ Prepare ad hoc manufacturing analysis to support operations and make recommendations on actionable steps to improve processes and drive efficiencies within the plant
+ Support all manufacturing/operations annual budgeting activities and forecast processes; partnering with all departments to establish appropriate operational and financial metrics to measure/execute against for achievement of goals. Assist in the development of standard costs
+ Actively participate as an operations finance representative on cross functional teams and in meetings to provide insights to drive process improvements and long-term business profitability
+ Quantify & monitor all risks & opportunities to plan. Liaise with the FP&A team to ensure updated assumptions are reflected in forecasts.
+ Financial analysis and project support as needed for the Plant Controller, Operations Finance Manager, and Plant Managers
+ Report food safety & quality problems to personnel with authority to initiate action.
REQUIRED EDUCATION, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:
+ Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
+ 1+ years of work experience, preferred
+ Previous experience in cost accounting or manufacturing/operations, preferred
+ Experience with Oracle or similar ERP system, preferred
+ Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel
+ Excellent written and verbal communication/presentation skills
+ Ability to work in a team environment with changing priorities and time pressures
+ Highly motivated with ability to drive results and work independently
WORKING CONDITIONS:
+ Regularly required to sit, use hands; typically used for office positions
+ Occasionally need to lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, with a potential of up to 25 pounds; typically used for office positions
+ Sedentary office environment; typically used for office positions
+ Occasional exposure to manufacturing plant floor requiring the use of personal protective equipment (ear plugs, safety glasses, bump cap, skid-resistant leather shoes, etc.);
+ Must follow Good Manufacturing Practice (hair net, no jewelry, no fake nails or eyelashes, no food/drink, gum, etc. in manufacturing Plant)
