NVIDIA’s Functional Safety Hardware Team is seeking an intern who is passionate about safety-critical AI systems. In this position, you will collaborate with industry experts to prototype AI-based workflows to enhance safety-critical development tools and workflows to improve our hardware safety development and safety analysis processes. This internship is perfect for students who desire hands-on exposure to the world of safety-critical engineering. You will work closely with experienced safety engineers to design, build, and apply solutions to tackle real-world challenges in functional safety. What you’ll be doing: + Partnering with functional safety experts to develop event-driven, AI-assisted automation workflows. + Prototyping agent-based Python tools that support safety analyses and development activities. + Applying your tools to real-world projects and evaluating their effectiveness. + Detailing and presenting results in a clear and organized manner, including written reports, presentations, and visualizations. What we need to see: + Pursuing a BS, MS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent program area. + Strong interest in safe, reliable computing approaches. + Proficiency in Python (or a similar language) and an understanding of object-oriented programming. + Familiarity with Langchain Framework. + Strong problem-solving skills, a passion for building high-quality software tools, and the ability to collaborate in a team environment. Ways to stand out from the crowd: + Exposure to functional safety or reliability concepts. + Demonstrated curiosity about safety-critical development. + Familiarity with standards related to safety-critical systems (e.g., ISO 26262, IEC 61508, etc.).
