    Powell is adding to their Sales Team! The Sales Associate is rotational assignment through the project management and estimating functions to gain necessary experience for consideration in outside sales. Timing of the role is based upon progress and organizational demand however expected duration is approximately 24 months. Upon completion of the rotational program, the Sales Associate should be prepared to be immediately successful as an outside Sales Executive.

    Essential Responsibilities

    Project Management

     

    + Execute Project management processes

    + Customer interface, both internal and external on a daily basis

    + Manufacturing/Testing

    + Contract Management

    + Development and Clarification of Project change orders

    + Project financials and forecasting

    + Post Sales Shipment/Warranty processes

    + Understanding of Powell’s project lifecycle

    + Leading teams

    + Develop understanding of Powell project documentation

     

    Estimating

     

    + Quotation Support for outside sales personnel

    + Quotation preparation, Dynamics and Financial Reporting interface

    + Order Entry through Invoicing in Conjunction with Project Management

    + Oracle Sales Order, Order Management and Projects

    + Read and interpret electrical drawings

    + Translate conceptual customer designs into a meaningful proposal

    + Perform competitive evaluation of sub vendor proposals used to complete the overall Powell offering.

    + Prepare detailed, accurate and cost competitive proposals

    + Develop understanding of full depth and breadth of Powell equipment offerings

    + Develop understanding of proper application for equipment offering

    Minimum Qualifications

    + BS Degree in Engineering, Business or Technical Sales preferred

    + Minimum 0-2 years of experience in an Engineering, Project Management, Production, or Sales & Marketing role

     

    Skills, Abilities & Other Requirements

     

    + General working knowledge of electrical products and applications

    + Familiar with electrical and power distribution products, concepts and applications

    + Familiar with NEC, ANSI and IEC power distribution equipment application standards

    + Excellent written and oral communication skills

    + Strong interpersonal skills, computer skills, and work plans skills

    + Ability to develop and deliver product presentations

    + Ability to work under pressure and put in the required time to meet deadlines

    + Work will require significant local or regional travel to current and potential clients.

    + Work requires a willingness to work a schedule above and beyond normal working hours to meet critical customer deadlines.

    + Work does require occasional overnight travel and possibly international travel.

    + Learn and follow company and departmental policies and procedures, work instructions, ISO policies, Safety Rules and Regulations

    + Visibility requires maintaining a professional appearance and providing a positive company image to the public

     

    Working Conditions

     

    + Generally requires working in a climate-controlled environment.

    + Physical requirements include talking, hearing, reaching, and the ability to use a computer keyboard and mouse.

    + To perform this job successfully, the incumbent must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

    + There will be some work in a laboratory and shop environments and exposure to the elements of our shop.

    + There will be some work performed in the field with exposure to construction sites or active customer facilities.
