Senior Advanced Application Engineer for Honeywell International, Inc. (Houston, TX)

RESPONSIBILITIES:

+ Work with customers to define solutions that drive their business to new levels.

+ Design, code and debug advanced high-quality applications working with globally spread teams.

+ Ensure the performance, quality, and responsiveness of the applications

+ Perform code reviews, automated and manual unit testing, documentation for any code you design, write or modify

+ Deadlines matter to us. Plan your work and meet your deadlines, while maintaining code quality.

+ Self-motivated and able to work with little supervision, consistently take the initiative to get things done.

+ Participate in team planning sessions and commit to deliver as committed by team.

+ Bring new ideas and technologies to the team that can improve the product or process.

+ Provide product and application support for external customers.

+ Collaborate closely with the other members of the team both locally and globally to solve customer problems and to exchange knowledge and best practices.

+ Deliver customer training and provide technical support to the sales organization

YOU MUST HAVE:

Qualified applicants must have a Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Paper Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field, and 8 years of experience with MES systems in Pulp & Paper Industry. Full term of experience must include the following: knowledge of high-level programming languages; working knowledge of Microsoft SQL; ability to learn and demonstrate new skills in short term; understanding various software development lifecycles; knowledge of software configuration management and change management practices; and demonstrate the ability to develop efficient and high-quality software. Up to 20% domestic travel required. Telecommuting permitted up to two (2) times per week.
