Job Summary:
Provides administrative support for the courts requiring independent judgment.
Essential Duties:
+ Provides administrative support operations within a court division.
+ Conducts research and compiles information. Prepares and distributes various reports and other forms of correspondence.
+ Perform calendar management and coordination, timekeeping, and departmental recruitment coordination.
+ Addresses inquiries from other departments and the general public.
+ Screens incoming calls and/or visitors; determines where to refer inquiries.
+ Maintains a record of all correspondence, documents; responsible for archiving and document storage.
+ Receives, verifies, and maintains information for required reporting.
+ Performs other administrative tasks and assists in projects as directed.
Qualifications:
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Requires knowledge of rules, regulations, policies, and procedures governing area of assignment. Theories and principles of basic mathematics. Billing, payroll, and/or procurement practices. Principles and practices of filing and basic records management. General office practices, procedures, equipment, and technology.
Requires skill in delivering high quality, customer-focused service. Scheduling meetings, appointments, and special events. Creating and maintaining specialized filing systems and records. Using spreadsheet, database, word processing, presentation, and other software to Gather, organize, and presenting information. Building sustainable working relationships with other County personnel, officials, and the public. Communicating effectively with coworkers, supervisor, and the public. Generating enthusiasm and support for program objectives.
Education and Experience:
High School diploma or GED required; and two or more years of administrative office support experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Licensing Requirements:
May require a valid Georgia driver’s license.
Physical Requirements:
Work is typically performed in an office-like environment. May work in high conflict situations and with difficult, sometimes dangerous parties. Positions in this class typically require stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, sitting, standing, mobility, fingering, grasping, driving, talking, hearing, seeing, and repetitive physical motions.
Sedentary Work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally and all other sedentary criteria are met.
