As the Show Electronic Engineer Senior, you will perform Audio / Video Engineering activities related to attractions ride, show and park/resort wide systems. Working within a provided Audio media and/or Video media scope, perform A/V engineering tasks: blue sky system definition, mockups, preliminary media scope and evaluation of creative intent, facility acoustic design and evaluation, delivery and source equipment criteria and selection, facility sizing and supporting infrastructure, production, installation, Test and Adjust. Enforce systems engineering process, discipline, and standards as well as ensuring a quality final product. Take responsibility for budget, schedule, and quality of attraction related deliverables.
You will report to the Manager – Show Electronic Engineering.
This is a Project Hire position without any guarantee of permanent placement.
What You Will Do:
+ Makes decisions and recommendations that influence significant A/V engineering activities for new attractions and theme park lands
+ Establishes and maintains frequent communication with engineers, Audio Media Designers, Acousticians, and members from other organizations and companies, requiring abilities in persuasion and negotiation on important matters
+ Apply creativity, foresight, and engineering judgment to anticipate and address A/V engineering problems, meet program objectives and requirements, and develop standards and guidelines for various engineering activities
+ Contribute to an engineering team throughout all stages of design, documentation, production, installation, testing, and final reporting for complex projects. Ensure that creative and functional objectives are accurately translated into detailed design requirements. Oversee field technicians and support staff as necessary
+ Ensure compliance with A/V department standards and procedures
+ Plan A/V engineering resources and schedules to support estimating
+ Develop specs and test plans
+ Oversee design from blue sky to project turnover
+ Identify, gather, define, and document audiovisual interface requirements for utilities, including specifications for electrical power as well as equipment cooling and heating loads
+ Create, review and approve top-level, layout, and design drawings for electronic subsystems prior to release
+ Identify and collect vendor electronic equipment specifications. Oversee vendor design processes and facilitate the resolution of technical issues arising between vendors
+ Conduct risk analysis and report to management when needed
+ Guide designers in creating facility and equipment drawings. Manage interface requirements between controls, ride mechanics, and audio elements
+ Troubleshoot first article assembly issues directly as needed. Offer electronic contractor assistance and conduct verification of initial assembly and bench testing as needed
+ Review contractor manufacturing and quality documentation to ensure compliance with contractual technical requirements
+ Confirm that A/V equipment installation and acoustic treatments align with project drawings and specifications
+ Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve installation conflicts, interferences, or other issues as they arise
+ Assess A/V system performance to verify it meets all stipulated requirements
Required Qualifications & Skills:
+ 10 years or more experience in related field
+ Proficient in AutoCAD. Working knowledge of Revit or a willingness to learn.
+ Requires expertise in preparing procurement specifications and design documents, focusing on complex audio and video systems, including equipment selection, system integration, purchasing, and installation.
+ Maintain awareness of current audio, acoustic, and video technology globally.
+ Possess knowledge and familiarity with relevant industry standards.
+ Understand networked audio and video distribution, as well as park-wide systems.
+ Have a working understanding of architectural and facility requirements and how discipline-specific products integrate into attractions.
+ Demonstrate experience in prototype design.
+ Be knowledgeable about Underwriters Laboratory Standards, National Electric Code, and National Fire Protection Association guidelines.
+ Clear verbal and written communication with multiple stakeholders is required.
Preferred Qualifications & Skills:
+ Strong hardware expertise and hands-on installation experience
+ Ability to work independently, incorporate team input, and adapt to changing requirements
+ Willingness to travel or relocate for up to 6–12 months is essential
+ Develop scripts for Audio Control and Processing systems, including Alcorn V16 and Peavey NION, QSC Q-SYS
+ On-board audio systems Design and Commissioning
+ Industry Certifications Desirable (QSC, Audinate, Avixa, Cisco, BICSI)
Education:
+ Associate’s degree, Engineering Technology, or other related degree desired, but not required

The hiring range for this position in Glendale, CA is $95,500 - $128,000 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
