You will report to the Manager- Graphic Design.
This is Project Hire position without any guarantee of permanent placement.

What You Will Do:
+ Research various interior, architectural, and graphic design genres, themes and historical timelines to help inform project design/art direction documents.
+ Provide support to various environmental graphic design teams by assisting with design concepts, developing design details, design constructability, and scaled technical drawings for fabrication.
+ Create Graphics scope/program and lead implementation of design intent as a member of the project design team and support adherence to established project strategies, schedules, and budgets.
+ Develop Environmental Graphic Design solutions in collaboration with other disciplines. Including Creative Design, Show/Design, Ride, Design & Production, and Operating partners.
+ Support implementation of project goals/objectives through problem-solving and development of Graphic design solutions.
+ May assist in developing scopes of work and soft cost design estimates for attraction-level work.
+ Monitor performance of the design team against the project design schedule, budget, and earned value.
+ Provide technical direction to in-house designers and Design Services consultants.
+ Lead a small team of designers in the design of environmental graphics for various projects.
+ May direct consultants to whom the design is outsourced for WDI projects.
+ Coordinate and communicate design issues with project Lead, Principal, and Graphic Designer Manager.
+ Interact and communicate with the project team as the discipline lead or key department representative.
+ Expected to influence the design of fairly complex projects in all project matters.
Required Qualifications & Skills:
+ 7 years in Environmental Graphic Design practice preferred.
+ Strong artistic skills and experience with thoughtful design, with a clear understanding of the fundamentals of Graphic Design to solve graphic and way-finding challenges in our Theme Parks, Resorts and Cruise Ships.
+ Strong typography skills, color theory, visual hierarchy and spatial judgement.
+ Proficiency with Adobe Suite design and illustration programs (including Photoshop, Illustrator, In Design), Sketch-up and MS Office Suite.
+ 2 years leading a team of designers in the design of environmental graphics/signage and the creation of contract documents for fabrication.
+ Construction phase experience, including the submittal/shop drawing review process and on-site field inspections.
+ Proficiency with Adobe Suite design and illustration programs (including Photoshop, Illustrator, In Design), Sketch-up or similar modeling program and MS Office Suite.
+ Proficient in understanding of wayfinding systems.
+ Ability to estimate labor costs for Graphic signage.
+ Working knowledge/experience with planning a Project Life Cycle.
+ Willingness and ability to travel domestically and internationally as required.
+ A valid passport is mandatory.
Preferred Qualifications & Skills:
+ Proficient with signage code requirements, including but not limited to Fire, Safety, Health, and ADAG.
+ General knowledge of supporting fields including architecture, interior design and landscape design.
+ Prior Disney experience and knowledge.
Education:
+ Bachelor’s degree from an accredited program required.
