    **Purpose:** The IMM Tech IV provides technical expertise support for Injection Molding. Under the direction of engineers or managers, the responsibilities of the technicians are: design, research, procure, fabricate, assemble, modify, debug, test, evaluate, accept and document mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, robotics, electric and electronic equipment and efficiency improvements. Maintain currency and adhere to provisions of FDA, OSHA, GMP, MP's, change request policy, ISO 9001, equipment specifications and process specifications. Create, review, and update electro/mechanical drawings, operating manuals and procedures, maintenance, calibration procedures and training manuals. Investigate alternative methods and procedures and assist in the design of experiments under operational and developmental conditions. Vigilant for shop safety, environmental safety, ergonomics and hazardous energy control. Provide technical training and certification for Process Technicians and troubleshooting of the production machinery and process.

    You will:

    + Acts as an R&D Liaison with JJVC EH&S staff.

    + Owns, directs and monitors compliance for the R&D organizations to specific JJVC, EGOPs and SGOPs as assigned by management.

    + Develops and implements new programs, processes and procedures to improve compliance within the R&D organizations with a focus on lean initiatives.

    + Works as a key team member on R&D projects to address potential compliance concerns and resolve issues.

    + Maintains appropriate documentation to support R&D compliance needs and provides input to EH&S as needed for EH&S reporting.

    + Facilitates all internal and external assessment preparations for R&D to meet compliance requirements.

    + Coordinates the R&D 90-day waste storage room to ensure that waste materials are appropriately labeled, stored, shipped, tracked, and disposed or recycled in compliance with JJVC and regulatory procedures.

    + Coordinate and participate as an active member or incident commander in all emergency response activities in support of R&D.

    + Provide training or presentations as required to R&D to maintain/improve current compliance and EH&S Culture.

    + Provide updates and recommendations to management at all levels as necessary.

    + Performs other related duties as assigned by management.

    Qualifications

    + Associate’s degree (engineering technology or engineering preferred), or equivalent work experience.

    + Experience with a diverse group of injection molding machines, molds, and plastic materials, preferably with precision products. 10+ years preferred.

    + 2-4 years maintenance or engineering experience with high volume production line environment, preferably continuous operation

    + Injection molding operation or process development certification, such as RJG Master Molder or equivalent, preferred.

    + Training, coaching experience required.

    + Knowledge of precision metrology and design of experiments and statistics.

    + Working knowledge and troubleshooting skills in the following areas: PLC systems, electro/mechanical devices, robotic/servo systems, safety devices, equipment installation, debug and qualification, control circuitry development, electro-mechanical troubleshooting/repair, equipment prototyping, production start-up, equipment process development and mechanical devices, controller, mechanical parts design, tooling experience, materials/metal working, and mechanical power transmission.

    + Experience working in a medical device manufacturing facility, working with R&D engineers and assisting in the execution of protocols preferred.

    + Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

    + Ability to prioritize projects and tasks. Ability to handle multiple tasks. Good organizational skills.

    + Ability to work in an empowered work team environment.

    + SolidWorks modeling experience a plus.
