             Job Overview We are seeking a casual rehab aide to support acute care patient needs at M Health Fairview Southdale Hospital in Edina! This role is a great opportunity to learn more about rehabilitation services. The rehab aide will assist with patient care, under the direction of a therapist, issue equipment to patients, clean equipment and Rehab spaces, complete light clerical tasks, and assist with patient transport to/from Rehab gyms. + FTE 0.01, casual position. + Schedule: Weekend Rotation, every four weeks. Saturday & Sunday, 7:30am - 4:00pm and one holiday per year. + Opportunity to pick up additional shifts on weekends and during the week, as available! + Local SEIU contract position. Fairview Rehabilitation offers a broad range of services that serve patients across 10 acute-care hospitals, 3 post-acute settings and 70 outpatient adult and pediatric therapy clinics. Consisting of Physical, Occupational and Speech Therapy as well as Audiology and Cardiac & Pulmonary Rehab, our therapists collaborate with colleagues in all medical settings and offer dozens of specialty programs. Responsibilities + Provides patient transfers and transport + Follows proper procedure when completing/assisting with patient transfers to ensure safety of patient and self + Transports assigned patients in a safe and timely manner + Observes patient condition during transport and reports adverse symptoms to therapy or nursing staff. + Prints up schedule of transports from Epic. + With appropriate training may assist with patient care as delegated and under the supervision of a Certified/Licensed Rehab Professional + Including set-up of treatment equipment, monitoring patient activities, scoring of tests. + Immediately reports any observed change in patient status to supervising Certified/Licensed Rehab Professional. + May need to utilize Epic to check for patient weight/height and weight-bearing status. + Prepares, maintains, and cleans department/treatment areas in compliance with safely and infection control standards + Completes cleaning per schedule + Completes maintenance, temperature, and safety checklist + Completes required checklists + Assists with ordering, inventorying, issuing and verification of billing of supplies and/or patient treatment equipment, including rental equipment. + Knowledge of varying requirements for payor reimbursement of issued medical equipment, including waivers for non-covered equipment and Medicare primary walker issuance. + Ability to navigate in Epic to print up face sheet + Meets Customer Service Expectations for Department + Addresses patients/visitors in a professional and positive manner. + Answers phones promptly and courteously. + Protects confidentiality of protected patient information while working in a highly visible environment. + Demonstrates the ability to perform multiple, simultaneous tasks in an environment faced with interruptions. + Demonstrates awareness of and compliance with department productivity standards, attendance, time management and prioritization. + Participates in department, facility process/quality improvement initiatives. Required Qualifications + Basic Life Support (American Heart Associatoin or Red Cross) prior to the end of orientation Preferred Qualifications + High School Diploma or equivalent + Interest in Rehab Services or Healthcare fields + Continuing education in career path of Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Speech Language Pathology, or other rehabilitation services (cardiac, pulmonary, etc.) Benefit Overview Although this is considered a non-benefit eligible position, Fairview offers employees the option to participate in the Fairview 403(b) plan, earn Sick and Safe Time, and early access to earned wages. Compensation Disclaimer The posted compensation range corresponds to the minimum and maximum pay rates outlined in your union agreement for the respective job classifications at the time of job posting. An individual's pay rate within this range may be influenced by various factors, including FTE, skills, knowledge, educational background, and qualifying experience as specified in the contract.
