Job Summary
The Staff Accountant, Financial Reporting will be instrumental in the external reporting process, including assisting with the preparation of various reports filed with the SEC, debt compliance reporting and Census Bureau reporting. Reporting to the Director of Financial Reporting, this individual will collaborate with cross-functional teams to produce timely and accurate reports in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Key Responsibilities
External Reporting:
+ Assist with the preparation of various reports to be filed with the SEC, including Forms 10-K, 10-Q, 8-K (earnings press releases), proxy statements and other filing documents.
+ Prepare supporting schedules, documentation, and analyses to support the financial statements, footnotes and MD&A disclosures.
+ Assist with eXtensible Business Reporting Language (XBRL) tagging of financial statements and footnotes.
+ Assist with the preparation of schedules and reports for debt covenant compliance reporting
+ Coordinate data gathering and information request for Census Bureau reporting
+ Collaborate with key contributors to the SEC reports, including Legal, Finance, Tax, FP&A, Supply Chain, Operations, IT, Construction/Real Estate, People Resources and Marketing.
+ Work with external auditors in conjunction with the annual year-end audit and interim reviews.
Duties and Ad Hoc Projects:
+ Assist in the preparation of presentations for the Audit Committee and Disclosure Committee.
+ Prepare documentation and facilitate testing of internal controls surrounding the financial reporting process to ensure compliance with SOX requirements.
+ Continuously assess financial reporting processes for process improvements.
+ Remain current on new and upcoming accounting guidance issued by the FASB and SEC.
+ Prepare reports/analyses and participate in other projects as needed
Skills, Knowledge & Experience
+ Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting
+ 1 to 3 years of experience, preferably at a public accounting firm or a public company
+ Strong verbal and written communication skills
+ Strong attention to detail
+ Knowledge of US GAAP and SEC reporting rules
+ Ability to work under pressure and within tight deadlines
+ Experience in the restaurant and/or retail industries a plus
+ CPA or progress towards CPA a plus
+ Experience with Workday and/or Workiva (Wdesk) a plus.

Pay Range - $78,087.50 - $100,462.50
