CNC Programmer-Manufacturing Engineer

This key role is responsible for developing, optimizing, and supporting CNC programs and machining processes for complex, tight-tolerance components. The ideal candidate will combine hands-on machining experience with strong programming and process engineering skills to drive efficiency, quality, and innovation within our machining process.
Key Responsibilities
+ Create the CNC machining program and engineering process for new parts and trouble shoot existing jobs that are more challenging.
+ Set up new and more difficult parts then hand-off to operator for production, following up accordingly.
+ Optimize CNC programs for multi-axis lathes, mills, and Swiss-type machines using Mastercam and Solidworks software
+ Review blueprints, models, and engineering drawings to determine machining sequences, tooling requirements, setups, and assist in the estimating process.
+ Design and recommend tooling, fixtures, and workholding solutions to improve repeatability and reduce setup times.
+ Collaborate with machinists and operators to ensure successful first-article production and process reliability.
+ Troubleshoot machining or programming issues and implement corrective actions.
+ Analyze cutting parameters, speeds, and feeds to optimize cycle times and surface finishes.
+ Maintain accurate documentation of programs, tool lists, setup sheets, and process instructions.
+ Support ISO/AS9100 aerospace quality systems through proper documentation and engineering control.
+ Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and contribute to lights-out manufacturing readiness.
+ Train and mentor operators in process understanding and best practices.
+ Strong proficiency in programming and operating multi-axis CNC lathes and mills (Miyano, Doosan, Citizen and Makino experience preferred).
+ Skilled in reading and interpreting blueprints, models, G-code, and geometric tolerancing (GD&T).
+ Solid understanding of cutting tools, materials, feeds/speeds, and machining strategies.
+ Familiarity with AS9100D/ISO standards and process control requirements.
+ Excellent communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.
+ Highly organized, detail-oriented, and committed to quality and continuous improvement.
+ Ability to meet physical demands of the job, including but not limited to frequent standing and walking; frequent kneeling; bending; lifting or moving up to 50 lbs.
Qualifications
+ At least 10 years’ machining experience mostly in Aerospace/Defense with 5 years of multi-axis machining.
+ Must have experience with Mastercam. Additional knowledge of SolidWorks and JobBoss MRP software a plus.
Physical Requirements
+ Manual dexterity and visual acuity for precision work.
+ Comfortable working in a production environment with machinery, lubricants, and metal materials.
