    Seeking a Chiller Technician for a mechanical subcontractor in the Austin, TX area!

    Skills and Requirements

     

    Education/Expereince: Completion of a Union Apprentice program or equivalent training, and/or on the job experience of at least 5 years relative to chiller maintenance and repairs.

     

    Certification: EPA (Environmental Protection Agency) certification for handling refrigerants. Factory training from major manufacturers is a plus.

     

    Technical Skills: Proficiency in reading electrical/control schematics, and technical manuals. Strong understanding of refrigeration cycles, electrical systems, and mechanical components.

     

    Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot issues with chiller systems efficiently. Strong skills in efficiently identifying deficiencies with chiller systems. Strong skills to understand the inner working of a chiller, pumps, cooling towers and associated controls.

     

    Physical Fitness: Ability to lift heavy equipment, work in confined spaces, and perform tasks that require physical stamina.

     

    Communication Skills: Good communication skills to interact with clients and team members effectively.
