Job Description

Insight Global is seeking a 6 month contract to hire Sr. Accountant to sit on-site 4 days a week, 1 day remote, in Charlotte, NC.

We are seeking an experienced Payroll Accountant to manage and reconcile payroll accounting for a workforce of over 100,000 employees. This role requires exceptional attention to detail, strong technical accounting skills, and the ability to work with large-scale payroll systems. The ideal candidate will ensure compliance with internal controls while delivering accurate and timely financial data.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and post payroll-related journal entries for high-volume transactions.

• Perform detailed account reconciliations for payroll accounts and resolve discrepancies promptly.

• Maintain and review general ledger entries related to payroll and benefits.

• Collaborate with payroll operations to ensure accurate tax and compliance reporting.

• Support month-end and year-end close processes for payroll accounts.

• Prepare ad hoc reports and analyses for management and auditors.

• Ensure compliance with GAAP, SOX, and company policies.

Identify opportunities for process improvement and automation in payroll accounting.

Skills and Requirements

Must-haves

• 7+ years of professional experience as an Accountant

• Experience completing journal entries and reconciliations

• General ledger experience

• The ability to manage and maintain the core financial record system of an organization. The general ledger is the central repository for all financial transaction

• Strong Excel experience

• VLOOKUP's and pivot tables

Bachelor's degree Plusses

• CPA

• SAP General Ledger

• Accounting for Payroll experience
