             Job Description Insight Global is seeking a skilled and motivated Chemistry Lab Technician to support a multidisciplinary science and engineering research center in Lemont, IL. The successful candidate will support laboratory operations by carrying out technical tasks, maintaining equipment, and performing sample analyses essential to the development and scale-up of this technology. This role will focus on executing bench-scale experiments, preparing samples, maintaining laboratory equipment, and assisting in data collection. Day to Day: Provide reliable laboratory support for experimental workflows. Assist in the preparation, execution, and documentation of chemical extraction and separation experiments. Support reactor operation and process optimization activities. Maintain laboratory safety. Deliver accurate and timely data that informs technical decisions and scale-up planning. Prepare and handle coal fly ash and other solid waste samples. Carry out leaching and separation experiments under standardized protocols. Perform solid and liquid phase characterizations (e.g., ICP-MS sample prep, XRF/XRD sample prep, SEM stubs). Maintain laboratory notebooks and contribute to internal reports. Assist in reactor set-up, operation, and troubleshooting. Maintain inventory of chemicals, consumables, and lab supplies. Adhere to all laboratory safety and waste disposal protocols. Provide weekly updates to the Technical Representatives. Skills and Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, or related field. 1-2+ years of professional experience. Demonstrated experience in wet lab techniques, including solution preparation, sample digestion, titrations, and solid–liquid separations.. Familiarity with analytical methods relevant to solid and liquid characterization (e.g., ICP-MS, XRF, XRD, SEM). Ability to follow detailed experimental protocols and document results accurately. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Commitment to laboratory safety.
