    Job Description

    Insight Global is seeking a Data Manager to join our client in Hauppauge, NY. This role is remote and requires travel to the office a few times a quarter. This position will be managing enterprise data systems to ensure integrity, security, and accessibility across platforms. Requires expertise in SQL, IBM Cognos Analytics, and Microsoft Power BI to support reporting, analytics, and decision-making. Collaborates with IT, finance, operations, and leadership to deliver actionable insights.

    Key Responsibilities

    Data Management: Design and maintain data models, ETL processes, and governance standards; ensure data quality and consistency; manage integration between ERP, CRM, and other systems.

     

    SQL Development: Create and optimize complex queries, stored procedures, and views; support data warehouse development; resolve performance issues.

     

    Reporting & Analytics: Build and maintain dashboards in

     

    Cognos and Power BI; translate business needs into analytical solutions; standardize reporting frameworks.

     

    Collaboration & Leadership: Define KPIs and data strategies with stakeholders; train analysts; manage access and security.

     

    Governance & Compliance: Enforce documentation and naming standards; ensure compliance with data privacy regulations.

    Skills and Requirements

     

    5+ years of experience in data management, business intelligence, or database administration.

     

    Proven expertise in SQL (T-SQL or PL/SQL), Microsoft Power BI, and IBM Cognos Analytics,

     

    Experience managing or supporting data warehouse environments (Microsoft SQL Server, Azure, Snowflake, etc.).

     

    Strong understanding of ETL tools, data modeling (star/snowflake schemas), and relational database design. Azure Data Factory, Synapse, or similar cloud data tools

     

    Microsoft Certified: Data Analyst Associate (Power BI)

     

    IBM Cognos Analytics Author/Administrator Certification

     

    Microsoft Certified: SQL Database Administrator or Data Engineer
