    The role you'll contribute:

    The Finance Director is the financial business partner for their hospital and is responsible for overseeing preparation of accurate and timely operating budgets, capital budgets, and financial reporting. They are responsible to proactively transform data into information to provide insight to Executive team, Shared Services Teams and Operational Management for the purpose of controlling costs, managing change, improving performance, and creating organizational value. This includes, but is not limited to, daily, weekly, and monthly expense monitoring, proforma development and tracking, capital planning and execution, supply and new-service expenditures and other reports. They are responsible to develop and implement accountability processes to ensure management of expenses and capital in relationship to hospital revenues and budget. The Finance Director must be proficient in communicating complex topics in clear and concise manner that is easily understood by individuals without formal financial training. They must also demonstrate ability to transfer knowledge to others in a way that is useful in improving the financial and mission performance of their respective areas of responsibility and the hospital in total.

    + Assists leadership in overall financial management of the hospital.

    + Manages staff performance and department responsibilities in accordance with hospital and department policies and procedures.

    + Ensures monthly closing entries, statistics, and capital information are prepared timely and accurately.

    + Manages the budgeting process.

    + Coordinates all audits, including internal, external, and regulatory audits.

    + Acts as department spokesperson on all fiscal matters and maintains contact with auditors, insurance, and Medicare officials.

    + Communicates updated or new guidelines and regulations to appropriate personnel.

    + Approves, facilitates, and maintains department policies and procedures, objectives, performance improvement programs, and safety standards.

    + Prepares or directs the compilation of data and the preparation of financial and operating reports, including annual budget, third-party reimbursement, account reconciliations, audit reports, equipment, construction, and facility reports.

    + Recommends to management means of reducing hospital operating costs and increasing revenues.

    + Advises administration regarding any adverse fiscal trends and oversees annual inventory counts for various departments.

    + Other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications

    The expertise and experience you'll need to succeed** **:

    + **Bachelor's Required; Master's Preferred**

    + **5 years of work experience required**

    + Understanding of revenue, expense, budgeting, capital and cost management processes

    + Strong organization skills

    + Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills

    + Effective oral and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex information in understandable terms to all levels of staff

    + Effective computer skills, particularly Microsoft Office Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

    + Ability to work in a matrix-management environment to achieve organizational goals

    + Skill set to compile and analyze financial information for financial decision making, organize and present the analysis and recommendations to management in a written or oral format.

    + Ability to coordinate the development, implementation and deployment of strategic information to assist the organizations overall performance.

    + Ability to work in a project-oriented environment that is fast paced with individuals across the organization.

    + Working knowledge of healthcare accounting methods and reporting, standards development, costing methodologies, utilization measurements, and financial modeling.

    + Strong leadership skills to influence a team of hospital leaders to accomplish organizational objectives.

    + Demonstrates professionalism in both quality of work and relationships, interpersonal skills for small and large group settings.

    + Knowledge of database networks and other financial resources/software, including PeopleSoft

    + Familiarity with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles

    + Proven knowledge of revenue cycle concepts

    + Certified Public Accountant (CPA) Preferred
