The role you'll contribute:
Assists the physician in providing medical care to patients of various ages according to the policy of individual practice, in accordance with professional standards and hospital policies and procedures. Adheres to the Florida Hospital Corporate Compliance Plan, and to all the rules and regulations of all applicable local, state, and federal agencies and accrediting bodies. Responsible for helping practice and physician achieve all meaningful use measures. Demonstrates effective use and support of the Customer and Superior Service Standards, within the hospital and physician office settings, at all times. Functions under the supervision of the physician and the Practice Manager/Office Supervisor.
The value you'll bring to the team:
+ Organizes and reviews incoming test results and forwards them to the physician, tracking impending test results and following up with patients as needed.
+ Recognizes and responds to emergencies.
+ Performs tests and prepares specimens for outside lab testing as ordered by the physician.
+ Maintains examination rooms and treatment areas, ensuring cleanliness and readiness.
+ Manages inventory of clinical supplies, bio-hazardous waste, and sample medications, ensuring proper labeling, disposal, and sterilization of instruments.
+ Prepares and assists patients for examinations, procedures, and treatments.
The expertise and experiences you'll need to succeed:
Minimum qualifications:
+ High school graduate or equivalent
+ Graduate from an accredited medical assistant program within the last 5 years, OR
+ 6 months of experience as a medical assistant or related clinical experience within the last 3 years
+ Active American Heart Association BLS
Preferred qualifications:
+ 1 year of related experience
