The role you'll contribute:
The Nursing Professional Development (NPD) Practitioner functions as a learning facilitator, change agent, mentor, leader, champion for inquiry, advocate for NPD specialty and partner for practice transitions as they guide the learner toward desired outcomes. The NPD Practitioner continuously uses environmental scanning to intentionally assess opportunities and challenges within and externally to the organization, and identifies opportunities based on global and national healthcare trends, legislative changes, needs of collaborative partners, educational gaps, emerging technologies, and the clinical staff members desire for growth. The NPD Practitioner actively interacts with learners to contribute to nursing professional development processes and ensures the achievement of measurable outcomes, influences professional role competence and growth of learners in a variety of settings. The NPD Practitioner plays a pivotal role in strengthening the nursing workforce, serving as a role model, mentoring current and future generations of nurses.

The value you'll bring to the team:
Creates, plans, implements, and coordinates orientation for individuals new to the nursing unit/department using the ANPD standards of practice including assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, and evaluation with the NPD Practice model using inputs, throughputs, and outcomes to ensure a systematic approach to onboarding orientation.
Adjusts implementation strategies as needed based on the learners developmental level, learning needs, readiness, ability to learn, language, and cultural preferences.
Engages learners in planned educational activities through use of effective facilitation skills Creates, plans, implements, and coordinates activities related to training of new graduates, experienced nurses, and ancillary staff new to the unit/department based on collection of data that is used systematically and purposefully to ensure relevant and evidence-based learning for each clinician.
Develop/coordinates education plans related to initial and ongoing competency validation.
Activities include coaching of new nurses, facilitation of learning, using simulation, and tools that capture objective and subjective data about the individuals knowledge base and actual performance.
The expertise and experience you will need to succeed:
+ **Minimum qualifications** :
+ Working knowledge of word processing, data management, email, and presentation applications
+ Effective professional communicator with strong interpersonal skills.
+ Knowledge of the American Nurses Association (ANA)/Association of Nursing Professional Development (ANPD) scope and standards for Nursing Professional Development
+ **Education:** Bachelor of Nursing [Required]
Preferred qualifications:
+ **Education:** Masters of Nursing [Preferred]
Self-directed, creative, and demonstrates initiative to fulfill the seven roles of the NPD practitioner: learning facilitator, change agent, mentor, leader, champion for inquiry, advocate for the NPD specialty and partner for practice transitions
Knowledge of applicable regulatory standards (e.g., CMS, OSHA) for professional specialty served.
Certified Nurse Operating Room (CNOR)
Nursing Professional Development - Board Certified (NPD-BC)
Acute/Critical Care Nursing (CCRN) [Preferred]
