    Senior Property Tax Analyst

    Job Description Summary

    The Senior Property Tax Analyst supports Cushman & Wakefield’s national Property Tax Services practice by managing complex property tax engagements for a diverse portfolio of commercial real estate assets. This position involves valuation analysis, assessment reviews, appeals preparation, client reporting, and coordination with appraisers, attorneys, and tax authorities. The ideal candidate has strong analytical and communication skills, exceptional attention to detail, and the ability to independently manage projects in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

    Key Responsibilities

    + Analyze real and personal property assessments for accuracy, equity, and compliance with applicable tax regulations.

    + Prepare valuation analyses using income, cost, and sales comparison approaches to support appeals and negotiations.

    + Compile and analyze property-level financial data, rent rolls, and market comparables.

    + Prepare and submit annual property tax returns, exemption filings, and supporting documentation.

    + Assist with appeal preparation, including evidence packages, settlement summaries, and case documentation.

    + Communicate with assessors, boards of review, and tax authorities to negotiate assessment reductions.

    + Maintain accurate tracking of appeal statuses, filing deadlines, and jurisdictional requirements.

    + Develop client deliverables including assessment summaries, valuation support, and tax savings analyses.

    + Support senior team members in business development activities and client relationship management.

    + Mentor and review work of junior analysts, ensuring accuracy and quality of deliverables.

    Qualifications

    + **Education:** Bachelor’s degree in Real Estate, Finance, Economics, Accounting, or related field (Master’s degree preferred).

    + **Experience:** 3–7 years of experience in property tax consulting, valuation, or commercial real estate analysis.

    + **Technical Skills:**

    + Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word (advanced modeling skills required).

    + Experience with Argus Enterprise and CoStar or similar market data tools preferred.

    + Working knowledge of assessment processes and property tax laws across multiple jurisdictions.

    + **Certifications:** State appraisal certification, ASA, or CPA a plus but not required.

    + **Other:** Strong quantitative, problem-solving, and communication skills; ability to handle confidential information responsibly.

    The compensation that will be offered to the successful candidate will depend on factors such as whether the position is covered by a collective bargaining agreement, the geographic area in which the work will be performed, market pay rates in that area, and the candidate’s experience and qualifications.

     

    The company will not pay less than minimum wage for this role.

     

    The compensation for the position is: $ 72,250.00 - $85,000.00
