    We are seeking passionate interns for the summer of 2026 who possess excellent design, modeling, organizational and communication skills, which will enable them to interact within a multidisciplinary team of architectural/engineering/interior design professionals. Successful Interns will possess the creativity, curiosity, motivation, and skills necessary to create conceptual models and advance design ideas with a team.

     

    Your Key Responsibilities

     

    - Conducts basic interpretations of drawings, codes, and other similar materials.

     

    - Performs design for the structural discipline using BIM technologies to develop three dimensional models of buildings and their components under direction of senior staff.

     

    - Conduct basic calculations and lay outs to analyze and design individual building structural systems.

     

    - Works with project managers and technical design staff to prepare and revise drawing documentation in various engineering phases including site plans, floor plans, elevations, building sections, details, and calculations.

     

    - Creates electronic data files in compliance with Stantec and client requirements.

     

    - Converts redlines to document-ready work.

     

    - Publishes, posts, and manages drawing sets.

     

    - Maintains drawing revisions.

     

    Your Capabilities and Credentials

     

    - Ability to perform basic calculations and a basic understanding of engineering concepts.

     

    - Basic experience with modeling/drafting software (Autodesk Revit) preferred.

     

    - Basic experience with design softwares (RAM Structural suite, RISA, Enercalc, ETABS, etc.) preferred.

     

    - Basic understanding of floor plans and details.

     

    - Has familiarity with shop drawings.

     

    - Working knowledge of Building Information Modeling.

     

    - Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office.

     

    - Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

     

    Education and Experience

     

    - Must be in the process of obtaining a bachelor’s or master’s in civil/structural Engineering from an accredited university.

     

    - Up to 2 years of related project or internship experience is preferred.

     

    Please note: We are looking for someone who is currently pursuing an Engineering degree from an accredited school. If you have already graduated, please check our website for other full-time positions that might be more suitable for you.

    **Pay Transparency:** In compliance with pay transparency laws, pay ranges are provided for positions in locations where required. Please note, the final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible. Actual compensation for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on the agreed number of working hours per week.
