What You'll Do As our Facilities Coordinator, you will handle the management of the IOE Building, which includes facilities and equipment coordination and support, space management, safety support, and incident responses. You will serve as the Department's Liaison with the College's Facilities Management Office and other facilities groups as necessary. The Facilities Coordinator will report to the Department Administrator and may supervise student facilities assistants. + Department facilities + Serve as primary contact and coordinator for building issues + Coordinate building and space access control, including keys and card access + Coordinate phone service for building occupants + Manage/perform space set-up, moves, alterations and associated documentation for labs, offices, and other departmental spaces + Collaborate with the College for renovation planning, design and construction + Manage space and asset survey processes + Provide support for the Department's Facilities Committee + Department equipment + Coordinate the procurement of new and replacement furniture, supplies, fixtures, etc. + Coordinate building equipment and furniture installations, maintenance, and disposition + Assess utility and space needs for new equipment + Ensure all utilities in labs and building are operational + Department building and lab safety + Serve as building safety coordinator + Coordinate the Department's Emergency Response Team (ERT) for emergent issues + With the Research Support Technician, coordinate with Environmental, Health, and Safety to ensure compliance with codes, standards, and best practices + Provide support for the Department's Safety Committee + Represent IOE with the College and University + Other duties as assigned and needed Who We Are Michigan Engineers are world-class educators, researchers, students and staff who strive to build a people-first future. Required Qualifications* + Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience. + At least three years of coordinating facility operations, preferably in higher education. + Ability to exercise discretion, independent judgment, and confidentiality. + Demonstrated customer service and communication skills. + Ability to lift at least 50 lbs.
