    Job Summary

    Under supervision by the Associate Dean of Graduate Education and Research (ADGER), the selected candidate will be responsible for coordinating doctoral program activities in the College of Engineering and Computer Science (CECS). This will include the benchmarking and preparation of evaluative data for doctoral programs and initiatives. Assist in the development, documentation, and implementation of policies and procedures related to doctoral programs. May involve coordination, participation in, and support of multifaceted teams composed of internal and external groups/offices related to doctoral education in the CECS. Coordinates non-academic advising of doctoral students, may perform non-academic advising. Supports data-driven analytical frameworks for decision-making regarding programs, activities, strategic initiatives, and strategic opportunities for the CECS related to doctoral education. Coordinates doctoral program assessments and reviews. Acts as a liaison with department-based programs to resolve problems and ensure successful (1) implementation and evaluation of strategic initiatives for the ADGER and (2) evaluation of metrics and outcomes for programs and activities related to doctoral graduate education in the CECS. Works in partnership with other units supporting graduate education including, but not limited to, UM-Dearborn Graduate Studies, Rackham Graduate School, International Affairs, etc.

    Responsibilities*

    With emphasis on doctoral programs, support the activities of the CECS Associate Dean for Graduate Education and Research by performing a range of ongoing and varied activities including:

    **35%** - Implement CECS strategic initiatives related to doctoral education. Execute projects and tasks for CECS initiatives led by the Associate Dean for Graduate Education and Research. Oversee and manage special projects as needed using independent judgment to move CECS initiatives forward in collaboration with CECS leadership, faculty, staff, and students. Examples of strategic initiatives include professional development and community building of graduate students.

    **30%** - Provide doctoral program central support services including coordinating with the Office of Graduate Studies for admission related issues, provide non-academic advising on leave of absence, probation, change of advisor/program, voluntary withdrawal and dismissal handling, coordinate doctoral program open house and orientation, coordinate annual review process, conduct exit survey, serve as primary point of contact for doctoral program related surveys, interface with Graduate Studies, International Affairs, the Registrar, maintain and update all doctoral program templates, provide support for ENGR 700 and CECS Doctoral Committee meetings, GSI training and GSI meetings, etc.

    **15%** - Coordinate the assessment of CECS doctoral programs. Obtain and organize data on metrics-for-success and outcomes; manage data for evaluation and decision-making; summarize information in a manner that is understandable and creates efficient review for program leadership.

    **10%** In partnership with the Associate Dean for Rackham Programs, manage the interface between the Rackham PhD programs and Rackham

    **5%** - Benchmark doctoral educational programs and activities relative to peer institutions.

    **5%** - Other duties as assigned.

    Required Qualifications*

    + A Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

    + Analytical skills in support of managing data-driven frameworks and processes for decision-making.

    + Excellent computer skills.

    + Excellent written and oral communication skills, including the ability to write clear and concise reports, policies, and correspondence; ability to interact effectively with various stakeholders.

    + Demonstrated ability to be proactive and work effectively toward solutions.

    + Excellent ability to work effectively with academic leadership, faculty, staff, and students in a professional and confidential manner.

    + Excellent organizational skills, including the ability to implement projects from initiation to completion.

    + Demonstrated ability to work quickly and effectively under tight time constraints.

    + General knowledge of University of Michigan-Dearborn policies and procedures.
