    Store Layout & Design Manager

    Position Overview

    The Store Layout & Design Manager leads the planning, design, and optimization of retail store layouts to deliver efficient operations and an exceptional customer experience. This hands-on role blends creative design with project management and technology implementation. The ideal candidate combines strong visual, analytical, and leadership skills to support both new and existing store environments.

    Key Responsibilities

    + Design and maintain floor plans, fixture layouts, and planograms aligned with merchandising and operational goals.

    + Lead design planning for new stores, remodels, relocations, and resets.

    + Collaborate with Construction, Merchandising, and Operations to ensure accuracy and timely project completion.

    + Evaluate and implement software tools to enhance design efficiency and data accuracy.

    + Analyze store performance and space productivity to drive continuous improvement.

    + Coach and develop team members to strengthen technical and design capabilities.

    + Maintain brand, ADA, and safety standards across all store layouts.

    Qualifications

    + Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design, Architecture, Retail Management, or related field (or equivalent experience).

    + 5+ years of experience in retail design, store planning, or space management.

    + Proficiency in AutoCAD or Revit; experience with planogram or space planning software (e.g., Blue Yonder, Relex, SmartDraw).

    + Strong project management, problem-solving, and organizational skills.

    + Proven leadership experience and ability to collaborate across departments.

    + Solid understanding of retail operations, P&L concepts, and merchandising processes.

    Skills & Abilities

    + Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; database experience preferred.

    + Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

    + Strong analytical and decision-making abilities.

    + High integrity and professionalism when handling confidential information.

    + Basic knowledge of construction or fixture installation a plus.

    Work Environment

    + Primarily office-based with occasional store visits; some travel required.

    + Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods; occasional lifting up to 50 lbs.

    + May require occasional weekend or extended hours based on project timelines.
