Position Summary: Join the Penn Medicine at Home team as a **Lead Intake Referral Coordinator** , where you will play a key role in coordinating patient intake and admission activities. This position ensures timely and accurate communication with internal and external stakeholders, supports prior authorization processes, and contributes to the overall efficiency and quality of patient care services. Key Responsibilities: + Coordinate intake and admission activities for patient referrals. + Communicate effectively with patients, families, referral sources, and clinicians. + Obtain initial and ongoing prior authorizations for assigned Home Infusion Therapy patients. + Perform patient registration, insurance verification, and benefits checks. + Provide insurance coverage information to patients and referral sources. + Document all activities in real-time using Penn’s EMR system. + Complete required insurance and home infusion documentation. + Adapt to new and evolving insurance processes. + Implement and maintain the Authorization Tracking process for assigned patients. Leadership Responsibilities: + Develop and manage the monthly departmental schedule. + Create and implement orientation and training materials. + Train and mentor new staff members. + Serve as the department’s resource for process-related questions. + Develop and refine departmental processes as needed. + Monitor and report on departmental metrics. + Act as the primary liaison with PHIT, referral sources, Sirrus group, and payers. + Provide support to the CFO as requested. Minimum Requirements: + High School Diploma or GED required. + Associate’s degree in Business Administration or a related field preferred. + Minimum of 3 years of experience in a related field such as: + Billing, Accounts Receivable, Insurance Verification + Pharmacy Technician + Home Healthcare and/or Home Infusion We believe that the best care for our patients starts with the best care for our employees.
