    The Georgia Military College (GMC) Preparatory School is announcing an opening for a Dual Enrollment Faculty & Teacher Mentor/Coach. The Dual Enrollment Faculty and Teacher Mentor serves as the primary instructor for high school students enrolled in college-level dual enrollment courses at the Preparatory School. This position ensures high-quality instruction aligned with collegiate academic standards and provides mentorship, coaching, and professional development support to Preparatory School faculty. The individual in this role bridges secondary and postsecondary education, fostering academic excellence, college readiness, and a collaborative teaching culture within the Preparatory School.

    Primary Responsibilities:

    + Develops and delivers college-level curriculum for high school students; ensures course content meets college standards; maintains grading, assessments, and student engagement consistent with postsecondary expectations; collaborates on student eligibility, enrollment, and progress tracking.

    + Serves as a mentor and instructional coach to Preparatory School faculty; provides guidance on instructional strategies, classroom management, assessment practices, and curriculum alignment; models effective teaching practices; conducts peer observations and offers constructive feedback.

    + Curriculum Alignment and Academic Integration: Supports vertical alignment between Preparatory and College curricula to ensure smooth transition and consistency in academic rigor; contributes to curriculum review and assessment initiatives; advises on best practices for dual credit course development.

    + Designs and/or facilitates professional development workshops for faculty; participates in institutional training and assessment activities; engages in self-directed learning to remain current in both secondary and college-level pedagogy.

     

    Criminal background check and drug screen must be cleared before any candidate may begin working.

    Qualifications

    Education Requirements

    Minimum required: Masters Required in area to teach dual enrollment, valid Georgia Professional Standards Commission (PSC) certificate, or the ability to gain certification within one year of employment

     

    Preferred Level: Dual enrollment or advanced placement (AP), or college-level courses experience and training or certification in instructional coaching, mentorship, or educational leadership.

    Experience Requirements:

    Minimum Required: Prior experience of teaching experience at the high school or college level.

     

    Preferred Level: Developing and implementing curriculum aligned to the state and/or collegiate standards. Experience using formative and summative assessments to measure student learning and improve instruction.

    Skills Requirements:

    Minimum Required:Ability to design, deliver, and assess rigorous, standards-aligned instruction for both high school and college-level learners. Skilled in differentiated instruction and adapting teaching methods to meet the varied readiness levels of dual enrollment students. Ability to observe, mentor, and provide constructive feedback to teachers in a professional and supportive manners.

     

    Preferred Level:Experience designing or leading dual enrollment, early college, or AP programs, ability to develop and evaluate instructional materials to meet accreditation and academic rigor standards, and capacity to lead curriculum alignment initiatives. Capacity to represent the Preparatory School in professional settings, conferences, and academic partnerships.
