Summary:
The need for the Equipment Strategy Lead arises from the significant growth and complexity in Meta's data center building engineering, design, and construction. Over the past 1.5 years, the number of equipment submittals and SKUs has quadrupled, with over 1,000 SKUs and more than 300 in development. This expansion is driven by the increasing importance of owner furnished equipment (OFE) and is exacerbated by increasing quantity of manufactured owner furnished equipment (MOFE) as Meta's data center program grows and speed of deployment is critical.
Required Skills:
Mechanical, Equipment Strategy Lead - Data Center Design, Engineering, and Construction Responsibilities:
1. Combine inputs from Engineering, Hardware, & external industry sources to establish ENG tech cooling roadmap
2. Identify/engage potential vendors
3. communicate technical requirements and business value drivers to align vendors to Meta’s business drivers
4. Establish & maintain register of vendor engagement
5. Alignment with TSM on existing vendor engagement
6. maintain regular cadence of communication. Attend vendor meetings/industry conferences
7. Accountable for Mechanical/Controls OFE Planning BOM for all new/existing build DC Products Types (F, G, RDS, etc.)
8. Partner with building block champions on new/existing DC product designs & required OFE
9. Partner within DEC Demand Planning Team to establish overall demand signal for DEC
10. maintain updated demand through monthly planning cycles
11. Partner with ISCE Demand on O9 Planning Tool
12. review/vet proposals from O9. Establish rulesets for supplier allocation based on site conditions/constraints
13. Align with ISCE CSM on Prepositioning/Purchase Strategies (i.e. LTA, slot lock)
14. Partner with CSM/GSM to identify supply targets, as required identify/vet/qualify new vendors to enable technical/commercial readiness
15. Partner with GSM to qualify additional manufacturing locations (new & existing supplier)
16. Represent Engineering Team in supplier allocation recommendations at SSD
17. review materials in advance of leadership presentations
18. Enable cost intelligence
19. Should Cost, TCO, Costing Forms
20. Review & Contribute to regular updates of SSRF category plan docs
21. Partner with Quality Term for services buy-out
22. establish repeatable process of service procurement
23. Establish criteria/testing requirements for FoK Performance Testing & FWT
24. Establish storage/buffering strategies on LLE equipment
25. OFE & integrator furnished equipment
26. Establish partnerships with strategic vendors to enable NetZero value design opportunities
27. Lead technical evaluation of potential new vendors (VCA) in partnership with IPT
28. Manage CDD development, status tracking/reporting, & revision control
29. Manage Vendor Specific Submittal Development, status tracking/reporting, & revision control
30. Manage EOR Equipment Consultant
31. Accountable for Site Specific BOM Review (OFE Vendor/Quantities)
32. Manage End to End Change Management (OFE Submittal)
33. Review/Adjudicate technical commentary from DCIS
34. Managing tooling to measure KPI for OFE vendor submittal performance
35. Represent Engineering Team in supplier EB/EBRs
36. input engineering/technical score into overall BR
37. Collaborate with ICSE on supplier segmentation

Minimum Qualifications:

39. Bachelor's degree in a directly related field, or equivalent practical experience
40. Applicable Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field
41. 7+ years of experience with program/project management
42. Experience working simultaneously on multiple projects, in a team or independently
43. Effective organizational and communication skills
44. Demonstrated experience establishing working relationships and resolving interpersonal conflicts

Public Compensation:
$157,000/year to $218,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits
